Thanks for this thread. We just finished up the latest season of Homeland and needed something new. Watched the first episode last night and quite enjoyed it.

ET, Goonies, Stephen King... it's a beautiful 80s mash that never parodies itself. That synthesizer sound track, fantastic.
Only thing is how horrible Winona Ryder is. Just terrible.

Yup, another episode in and she is the absolute worst, but I never liked her as an actor

Lol, 2 episodes, 2 burnt out phones. How is she going to get another one???? That's the real drama at the moment.

I finished it tonight. I feel I liked it less than a lot of the people seem to in this thread, but it's still a pretty good show and I'll watch the next season.
Needs more Akira.

Started watching this last night after seeing this thread. Really enjoyed the first two episodes, wanted to watch a third but I was worried I would binge watch the whole series if I kept going.

Finished the show last night. Loved all the build up of the early episodes and the mystery was great. Thought the finale kinda lacked outside of some pretty cool moments.
Definitely worth a watch though.

I'm 5 episodes in. Really enjoying it so far.
Funny ...I normally hate Winona Ryder, but I think she's been excellent in this.

i think that once you get a few episodes in the twin peaks influence becomes really apparent.
that's a good thing BTW

I've only watched the first two eps, but I love the art direction, style, and feel of the show. Love it.

Any show that opens with a bunch of 12 year olds playing D&D in 1983 is off to a good start. Even the font of the title is lifted straight from Stephen King books of the era.

Just finished it. I enjoyed it. Love shows that have a slow build/mystery to them.
Some really creepy scenes early on in this series.

Four episodes in and really liking it. No complaints about Winona Ryder for me. She is not my favorite but I think she is doing a nice job in this. Although whenever I hear her voice, I picture her character from Edward Scissorhands.
I love these shows that have shorter seasons. That is why I can never get into shows like the Flash. Just too many episodes for me to commit to wataching.

I am not sure that the story is all that great but the way it was all packaged together definitely works really well. Loved the look and feel of the show, the opening title and synth music were awesome.

Yeah a star of this show is definitely the music, really added a lot to the feel of the show.
