Put Hiller on waivers today and he clears IMO.

I really hope Ottawa's 1st is high on BT's list to obtain.
They're pushing for the playoffs super hard, and I just don't see them making it. They had confidence in picking up Phaneuf, wonder if their confidence extends to giving up their 1st?
With the lottery, that could be in the top-10. I just ran a sim and it was 7th (with Calgary drafting 1st, no less).

Teams like that who are on the playoff bubble, probably only deal a first rounder if it's lottery protected.

Why would a team give up anything for Hiller. At this point, you probably get the same quality of goal tending by calling up whoever is your #1 in the AHL.
If Ramo was healthy I think you could move him. But not Hiller.

Send Hiller to AZ, get Bernier from TO.
Play Bernier and Ortio the rest of the year. Next year you give the reins to a Bernier/Ortio or Bernier/Gillies (if he's recovered by then)...

San Jose's two AHL goalies haven't been very good this season, neither has Stalock. Arizona's AHL goalies (other than Domingue) haven't been very good this season.
If you're looking to shore up your backup position for the playoffs but don't want to make a long-term commitment, Hiller and Ward are two veterans will playoff wins under their belts whose contracts expire this summer. Beyond those two, there aren't a lot of other options.
Hiller's stats this season are very close to Stalock's, but he has a better playoff history. I could see Wilson being willing to give up a mid/late round pick to swap Hiller for Stalock.

You mean conditional on them not being lottery? (So then it's a 2017 1st)
I can see Ottawa pushing for that, but I wonder how confident they are in their playoff hopes this year to make an unconditional trade.

Insider trading
lots of talks on Boedker
Coyotes are evaluating trade value right now
will probably get 5 + years @ 5+ million in free agency and Coyotes likely to trade him if they can't sign him
could be asking for a 1st round pick from one team or really good young player from another
Maloney will be referring to Vermette's return last year (1st+Dahlbeck)
Blackhawks don't feel the need to make a trade this year like years past. Would be happy to go with current roster, don't see a big hole.
BUT at the right price a guy like Boedker, Ladd, or someone at a more cap friendly deal would be brought in to play LW with Toews
very little talks between pending UFA Dale Weise and Canadiens
there will be interest if he ends up on the market
Rutherford not done dealing, he is in the rental market
looking at Roman Polak (lots of teams are looking at Polak)
Pittsburgh will also look at Boedker - his speed and skill will fit
Sabres are selling
Jamie McGinn is always on pace to around 20 goals, Sabres are looking for a 2nd round pick for McGinn, however no one is sure someone will give that up as rental market isn't set
preference for Burins is to re-sign Eriksson
biggest issue is Bruins would want 3-4 years but belief is Eriksson will get a 6 year deal as UFA
Would be shocked if Willie Desjardins was replaced in season, but could be replaced in the offseason if Canucks don't make playoffs

Also, kings announced that gaborik is out till the playoffs at least.
Considering the up close and personal look the kings got of hudler all last year, wonder if they'd be interested.

Boedker would be a nice add as a free agent but not at the rental price

How do Russell, Polak, and Weise have more perceived value than Hudler? (and Russell, Polak for Staal?)

I think Hamhuis, Polak and Weise are all valued too high on that list.
Saying Weise is worth more than Hudler is just ridiculous. He's a third line checking forward. Say what you will about Hudler, but he's a lot better than that. Especially as of late, and every previous year.
Also, Drouin would be a different kind of trade than the rest of the list. Eriksson and Boedker are likely to stay with their teams IMO.
If you exclude the people that are likely to stay with their teams, or bring back a different type of return, I think the ranking would be more like:
1. Ladd
2. Staal
3. Hudler
4. Russell
5. Weise
6. Hamhuis
7. Polak

If all players come to terms with their respective clubs, the list could look like this:
Defense
Russell
Hamhuis
Polak
Forwards
Hudler
Drouin
Weise
That would be a sweet sellers market for the Flames
