While I'm sure that's true Hartley doesn't seem to be the type to shy away from sending a message externally.
If he was benching Hudler, I feel he'd come right out and say it.

It's probably been mentioned but is it possible Hudler is a piece in a trade and they don't want him injured?

For the record. Jiri Hudler is working out and expected to take pre game skate, yet is not playing. Things that make you go hmmmm #Flames
Millions is trying to drum that up.

Still can't believe they gave him a 3 year, $12 million dollar contract.
Bob Murray, what were you thinking?

In the line of non-trade conspiracy theory:
I suspect if Raymond looked horrible last game, Hudler would have been back in the line up. Since Raymond wasn't, Hartley feels like he can give Hudler more time to recover from his illness.

Disagree. He NEVER trashes his players in front of the media.
Wideman and Gaudreau were benched last season without any of those type of comments. I just don't see him doing that.

I never said trashed.
But last year he was open to state that he was letting both Gaudreau and Wideman sit in the press box. He didn't trash any of them, but he didn't withhold that they were being kept out of the line-up as healthy scratches.
That's all I'm saying.

I get what you're saying, but he can't withhold that information. All that it means is he's not playing them.
There's no "message" people should be trying to decipher. Hudler might need another game to heal. He might be scratched because he's playing like crap. Maybe he's not ready mentally. My point is that Hartley isn't going to say why he scratched Hudler to anyone in the media.

Just google, Reddit NHL. It will probably be the 2nd link. They always talk about the game and other stuff.

I'm wearing a Flames t-shirt under a Guinness sweater under a Flames jersey. Layer upon layer of goodness. Flames win. Convincingly.

The Ducks and the Honda Center are never easy if you're the Flames, but I think the curse ends tonight! Of course the Ducks will be looking to get things going and though they're lower in the standing than anyone expected they won't be an easy team to play against tonight. Still, I think our team gets it done tonight!
