Hudler appears to be dealing with a left foot or ankle issue. Went down in a PP drill and ginger on that foot. #Flames

Well if Ramo is starting, then of course Hiller and Ortio will rotate in the other net

I'm getting sick of seeing Ramo and Hiller blow their starts. Put Ortio in already.

I don't understand how you don't play Ortio next game when the Ramo/Hiller haven't had performances to justify playing them instead of him. The intention of keep Ortio is that he's going to get games in this season, so why not start now so one of the other goalies aren't gonna be around?
And Oritio has shown he can steal games already. You don't get that with Ramo and Hiller, and the Flames need that right now.

Starting Ramo next game send the message that we are okay with mediocrity. The always earned, never given motto is slowly going out the window this season.
Even if Hartley sees Ortio as the 3rd string goalie, It's time to send the team a message. Going back to Ramo gives the impression that the team should stay the course and remain status quo.
After that embarrassing loss to the Oilers something big needs to change. We are 5 games into the season, but that performance wouldn't of been acceptable for even a pre-season game.
That said, I hope Hartley isn't going to fiddle with the lines like he did in the 3rd period of last game. Went from 3-2 to 5-2 after he juggled the lines and ruined any chemistry players were starting to develop.

Feisty practice for the Flames who are clearly focused on ramping up intensity. Colborne and Bennett back. Furious pace

Today's practice is most intense I've seen this season. If #Flames play tomorrow the way they're practicing today, I like their chances.

Hopefully losing to the Oilers was a bigger punch than any Vancouver player was able to deliver in the infamous brawl that originally unleashed this teams potential.

Maybe the message is that ALL the players up front and on defence have to be better, and that the problems are not resolved by a goaltending change?
Maybe the message is not to get too high or too low about individual wins and losses over the course of a long season?
Maybe neither you, me, nor anyone else outside of that locker room has a good sense about how "always earned, never given" mantra works in practice? Just because you understand the words does not necessarily mean that you can correctly interpret its implementation from the very, very limited view we have of the team.

Bennett and Colborne will be game-time decisions for #Flames vs. #Capitals.

I completely agree with these thoughts. However, this team is too fragile at the moment to handle anymore soft goals against due to sloppy goaltending. For that reason alone I steer clear of Ramo for now.

Great news for Colborne. Not so great news for Bennett. I don't even know what happened to keep him out of the last game.

Sounds like the last chance for both goalies. Another poor showing and Ortio gets bumped up the depth chart.

I'd still like to know if anyone has watched any practices - last year there were a few posters who reported in. Hartley seems to be greatly influenced by practice performance. I'm not saying this is the case with Ortio, but just wondering. Certainly his preseason performance was on par with the other guys.
