New Years Eve 2014
Wondering what the CP collective does for new years eve.
What is everyone here doing this year or fun things you have done past years?
Have yet to firm up any plans for NYE, trying to find something new and fun to do. Not looking for too fancy of an event but not really a banging club either. Past years I have done a steak and lobster dinner at a downtown pub. Last year was Trooper at the deerfoot casino. Looking to do something different this year, reasonable amount of money to spend (thinking up to $400 for 2).
Carriage house Inn has been suggested to me and I'm leaning that way so far. They have a buffet and a masquerade ball/club? anyone been there before for NYE?

I must be slowing down
An evening away from packed bars, overpriced booze and being able to sleep at 12am sounds pretty tempting today.

I'll see if any friends are hosting anything. Otherwise it will just be a usual night at home.

Ticked that I'm going to miss the game because I have to go to a stinking wedding.

We have had family (that we don't always get along with) in from all over Canada for the last 2 weeks and we send the last off on the 31st. My wife and I are looking forward to a quiet evening with Chinese food and bad year in review/countdown shows. We're so tired at the moment that I doubt we even make it to midnight. Never thought I would be "that guy".

Anybody got any recommendations for family events for young kids? All I can think of is Olympic Plaza and Zoo Lights runs from 6-9pm, but there must be something else.

We are going to some friends that are having a party. Getting a big shinny game going on their backyard rink.
While I hate Christmas, and I am accepting of New Years.

House party. We were going to take over Hudsons South but luckily a friend offered to throw a party instead.

Looks like there's a Family Dance Party at City Hall with a kid's countdown at 9. Can't vouch for it, but it sounds like it could be fun.
Also, has anyone done NYE at Olympic Plaza? Is there much to do besides skating, and do you know if it tends to be over-crowded?
