Numbers game. AHL Flames carry 9 defence on their roster, 8 of them healthy, I believe he's sitting these couple of games and then they will switch off and put him in and take out someone else.
It seems it's kind of like this to see who plays Defence on any given night.

Potter with a puck to the face but keeps on playing.
Flames defence is doing a good job of stopping Wolves. Hanowski and Tousignant doing a great job on the PK as well.

I felt like the Heat got pushed around last year. We've added Yonkman, Wolf, Van Brabant and Tousignant. He's unneeded. It's time to cut him loose.
