^^^ Awesome pic.

I don't think I could keep a straight face in a tub like that, nor would I ever recover from the shrinkage. The lil feller would be gone forever!

And this is why I don't think I'll ever be in on a trade Hudler bandwagon. Except for maybe denouncing said trade scenarios. I haven't had the time but I am definitely getting Hudlers # and name plate on my jersey when I can. My favorite Flame.

Now if he can resume his wizardy, all will be right in the world.

Hudler sounds like a future coach

I think Huds would look good with an "A" on his jersey.

anybody remember when we first signed him, some people (dont remember who) said Hudler was a dressing room cancer?

Guy's like a co-captain here... him and Gio (maybe others, Stajan etc) have created an awesome culture, I love the leadership we have. I hope we keep this guy around for years to come.

Calgary Flames’ bewildering run reminiscent of last season’s Avalanche

http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/ca...ons-avalanche/

Quote:
Where Colorado could be buoyed by some of the finest young offensive players in the league, Calgary doesn’t quite have that benefit. What Calgary does have, however, is a pair of stud defensemen in T.J. Brodie and Mark Giordano, who are both tied for the team lead with 13 points apiece. Giordano, who last season could have made a serious case for the Norris Trophy, is playing like a man who wants to take home the award this year. And the 24-year-old Brodie looks like he could be right alongside his captain in the race.
Quote:
The production from Calgary has been spread throughout the team, with the defensemen contributing just as much as the forwards. Rookie sensation Johnny Gaudreau has two goals and eight points, while veteran Jiri Hudler leads all Flames forwards with 10 points, three of which are goals.

Shockingly, however, what makes the two teams the most similar at this juncture is the goaltending had to be lights out and it was and has. The signature of the Avalanche last season seemed to be consistently getting out-played with timely saves from Varlamov carrying the team to victory. This season, it has been much of the same from Hiller.
Quote:
And like Colorado last season, which rallied around fiery coach Patrick Roy, Calgary seems to be willing to do whatever it takes to please their coach, Bob Hartley. Whatever Hartley’s doing to motivate the troops, especially Hiller, is working for the time being.

Agreed - what's great is we are building a team where half the guys could carry A's/

Good article on Sportsnet about whether or not the Flames current level of play is sustainable.

I keep thinking its not sustainable, but then I also have to think - they are without 4 regular fwds in the lineup and I can't see any one of them not contributing positively when they return.

That should go into the "Are the Flames a playoff team" thread. Answers a lot of points brought up in there.

Hudler is a beauty. Perhaps the quietest 10 points I can recall. Same as Hall/Toews.

I enjoy players who enjoy playing. Hudler seems to know he's got it good. Not like some prima donnas or players who think they have it soooo tough by going on a longish road trip.

I was pretty high on Hudler coming here from the get-go, but stories like this make me like him even more. He sure seems to be a great calming influence on the kids.

Nice article here about the Flames by Jim Matheson from the Edmonton Journal. I grew up in Edmonton and always liked Matty.

Lowe must be furious, their own media are converting to Flames fans. Haha!

Hartley has a Stanley Cup Ring, so does Hudler and Bollig I think. So they have half the winning knowhow as Lowe.
