Ugh, 94...makes me want to cry sometimes. I know it wasn't a conspiracy but damn, it sure felt like one.

The 1994 Montreal Expos would have easily won the World Series, if the season had not been cancelled. 94-70, and about to go into a crucial series against the second place Braves. That's when I lost interest in baseball.

I think they were 74-40 when the plug got pulled on the season. At the time they had the best lineup in Baseball and a great back end of the bull pen.

Alou, Walker, and Grissom in the outfield was easily the best trio in the game, and Wil Codero was starting to blossom into a solid run producer at Short. The only question was if the starting pitching could have beat Atlanta as Ken Hill was the so called ace, although Pedro Martinez was an up and comer. Not sure if Butch Henry, and Jeff Fassero could have finished the season as strongly as they had been pitching though.

I wonder if they would consider moving the Expos into the NL East and moving Washington to the AL East.

Historically, Washington was always an AL city plus natural rivalries with Baltimore, New York and Boston.

I hope the Expos come back, and if they do, I really hope they're rockin' the baby blues on the road

There a lot of support in Montreal to bring the Expos back. Whether that actually translated into financial/political will to support a publicly funded stadium.... I dunno.
They are levelling all the old industrial stuff alongside the Lachine canal, basically from the Victoria bridge back to Champlain, and building condo after condo after condo.
There's gotta be some room for a stadium in there somewhere.
