Default Manhattan TV Series: WGN

After watching the pilot episode of the historic telling of the Manhattan project I can honestly say it's a well produced show that will explode your expectations. History buffs will like this quite a bit.

"Set in 1943 at the time of the Manhattan Project, the series focuses on a New Mexico town the outside world knows nothing about. The federal government tells the scientists only what they need to know, while the scientists keep secrets from their families."

History buff here...I enjoyed the premiere. I wonder how authentic the side stories are, such as the theft of secrets and the competition between factions for their work to be selected by Oppenheimer.

Yes, I'm hoping there will be some history discussion in this thread. It's really peaked some interest, but my biggest fear for Manhattan is that the writers turn it into a patriot ad for the USA. So far this doesn't seem to be the case.

Starting this tonight. Plan on blasting through all the episodes released so far tomorrow if it's decent. Had no idea this show even existed. Love this piece of history and hope they do it justice.

I don't know how I feel about this show.

I really want to watch it because of the historical context, but man, some of the side stories

Spoiler!

Well the season finale was pretty decent. I'm still not sold on this but I'll check it out next year.

Anyone else watching still?

Anyone?

Anyone?

Haven't watched the finale yet, but have enjoyed the series and am looking forward to next season.

Edit: Great end to the season; basically the mirror image of the end of Season 1 of Game of Thrones.

Took me a while to peg Meeks character. The glasses are a nod to historical accuracy.
