Any time I've been through the airport it certainly seems like Nexus is way faster. The last bunch of times I've flown, each time I see the Nexus people breeze through and I think I should check it out and sign up, but then I always forget.. until the next time I fly.

My parents have Nexus and they love it. They travel to the states about 10 times a year and it is definitely worth it for them.
You get an actual card that you show to customs to let you through. Obviously sometimes it won't be any quicker, but the few times when there are massive lines make it worth it.

I use them to generate 10 probes for mineral extraction. Usually after that I build a pylon and either 2-gate zealot rush or tech up to blink stalkers.

i beleive you get a special card that you flash and you go thru the Nexus line. I beleive the card is geared towards those that travel tot he US more often as I think thee is an additional cost to getting one of thse bad boys......

Best $50 you'll ever spend. A+. Would strongly recommend.
Fly to the US 5-7 times a year.
Hell, the look of SHEER CONTEMPT AND HATE that you get from all the non-Nexus saps when you budge right to the front of the US security line is worth it alone.

I think Nexus is up to $80 bit still worth it. My wife goes over quite a bit so we are looking to get it as it is really worth it for border crossings. Plus to go to football games with my buddy you have to have or find your own way down there.

In the calgary airport, they scan your eyes when you use the nexus line both for leaving and coming home.

Is it a one time fee or do you have to pay annually? Also, is there a minimum amount of times you have to visit the States each year to qualify for the card?

It's the worst. Don't apply. It's like throwing money away. I don't know why anyone would sign up for it.
What I really don't get, is why people who are Nexus members, like myself, recommend it to other people. Stop it. The program sucks.

Agreed with Squiggs. Don't bother with Nexus, totally not worth it.
Totally not. *shifty eyes*

I got mine 3 years ago for $50 for 5 years. That $10 a year. No minimum use.
You just have to explain to them during the interview process why you want it. They'll also confirm a few things like your address, work history, etc.
I guess it's now $80.

I agree, waste of time and who knows who they sell my personal information to. I'm not sure why I renewed, I miss waiting in lines for hours with laymen...

It's up to $80 now? It'll probably still be the best $80 I spend when I renew mine.
The good thing about NEXUS too is that, depending on the Airline (Most US carriers, and I believe Air Canada is just getting into it now), you usually qualify for TSA Pre-check (flying out of US airports). And you will blow right by that, with no line to boot.
TSA Pre-Check, you pass through security (and metal detector), but you don't have to take off your shoes/belts/light jacket, and your laptops can stay in the bag. Aside from taking everything out of your pockets, you just walk through.
I'd still get it even if I'm not travelling to the US that much, because you can skip the line getting back into Canada.

Giving $80 to a random stranger would be better value for your dollar.

And besides, do you really want the DHS having both your fingerprints AND your retinal scans on file?
Don't make the same mistake I did - stay far, far away from Nexus. And don't fly with Air Canada enough to get status, either. Priority boarding is a scam. Stick with WestJet. *shifty eyes*
