I'm sorry but I see a ton of shots and Ramo will be earning his paycheck.

I don't even disagree with you, I just thought that was a very specific prediction. Of course, I'll be cheering for a different result. Except for the Ramo going 0.929. If that's his GAA the season will have some upside surprise potential, imo.

They might be in tough tonight, simply because Washington has had a game to get their legs under them and the butterflies out. IMO, the second game is easier and the guys just play.
However, I expect lots of enthusiasm from the boys, and hopefully (as a result of the intense training camp) lots of jump.
Here's hoping that their energy carries the day.
And please, no goals from Ovi - I don't want to listen to TSN go on ad nauseam about how awesome he is and the Flames aren't.

If Ramo's GAA is 0.929, the Flames run away with the President's Trophy.

Well not a GAA but rather a save percentage.... anyways excited about a new season, new team.
A ton of effort, just stay patient with the process night in night out is what I keep telling myself. If I could get through the 90's without checking into AA, I'll get through the next 5 years I'm sure.

Well here we go. Even though it probably hasn't hit most of us, just how bad this season is expected to be, it'll still be exciting to watch which players emerge over the next 82 games and start becoming a part of our future.
Go local sports team!

The first of my late nights/early mornings but an easy midnight start for the first one (thank goodness for East coast away games to start the season)
Looking forward to seeing the guys play regardless of whether we get outplayed, just a glimpse of what could be in the future will be enough for me.

The problem for teams playing the Flames this year will be to not look past them. I think there are going to be a bunch of games that are ugly losses for the opposition and Washington has the kind of characters to make it possible. 2-1 Flames.
Or I could be way out to lunch and in that case 4-1 Washington.

Very exciting!
I'm going with a 3-2 Flames win, Wideman, Glencross, and Monahan with the goals. Glad it's on the road, get some of the young guys playing with maybe slightly less nerves.

Wasn't Grabovski with Ovi and Backstrom or was that just on the PP?

Is this Wideman's first game back in Washington since the trade?

The Flames will work hard but with all of the changes to the lineup they will look disjointed and frustrated. The Caps aren't the best team in the league but they've had the one game under their belt.
This one gets ugly 9-2 Caps, personally I've put a moratorium on scores this year. don't care. I'm all about watching individual players.
Oh with the score 7-2 the Flames get frustrated McGratton triggers a pier 6 brawl. Hartley goes ballistic and his head spins around three times and he vomits up something that looks like pea soup.
Ovie rubs it in by celebrating his fourth goal by doing an on ice river dance with his linemates as backup singers while facing the Flames bench.

very happy that flames hockey season starts today.
very happy that there is inter-league play, and we get to see the league's best, not just the conference best.
i look forward to seeing:
- Monahan in a real game day situation.
- Baertchi's response given the management's comments of late
- If Ramo can keep the flames in it
- if the rest of the team comes out playing hard
the score is somewhat immaterial after that..
