I actually didn't mind Laffey at times last year... Not saying he is any good, just he has an ability to get a club through one start. Watch it be our best start of the year from our staff though.

Baseball is pitching. TOR is 11th in the AL in ERA, last in hits allowed, 12th in Earned Runs allowed, 11th in walks, 8th in strike outs, 11th in AVG, 13th in WHIP.
There's your trouble.

And it seems when the pitching is on, the bats go silent. They just haven't been able to match one another so far this year... It is starting to take its toll in my personal life now, I hate losing this much.

The same with the hitters too. If Melky is hitting then Jose is 0-4, if JP is swinging a good bat then Colby is striking out. Their ability to hit with RISP has got to be one of the worst in the MLB.
They have to get to Nova early, just like they did with Kuroda. But then keep the pressure on him.
Kawasaki has got to stop hitting in to double plays. I would rather he strike out swinging for the fences then just trying to barely make contact and its an easy DP for the Yankees.
Jose Bautista has to stop being seriously bad, I mean he has been scary bad.

So this game isn't on Shaw?
250 channels and I can't watch baseball. Such a broken system.

It's on in SD on SNETO and SNETP (100-somethings) if you have ordered the sports extra package. Pre-empted by the oilers on SNW. Last week in this situation we did watch a game from internets by using some selective google search words, if you want to go that route.
In a slightly related note, I can't stand how gameday now has ~5 commercials between half innings. Even worse, at the top of the ad window is a little Sentence: Gameday will resume following this advertisement. If you're going to play five at least don't insult me by pretending there's only one. I hate these stupid advertisement s.

Bullpen is screwed; going to them early far too often this season. Hopefully they can hold them to four here....
Is Gibbons in any danger? This is a horrible start for what should be a strong team.

Had an idea!

4 runs isn't a lot of offense though, but as has been pointed out the pitching has been horrible.

I think Gibbons was a terrible terrible hire. But, with the injuries thus far, I think he's safe. If anyone is in trouble it should be Pete Walker. The rotation has been horrible and the bullpen has been averageish.

A rookie batting coach and a rookie pitching coach, when paired with a more generalist type manager (as opposed to an old hitting or pitching coach), always puts more pressure of those specific coaches.
AA said he was on the same wavelength and had faith in Gibbons from past experience that he was going to be able to manage this particular team at a "high" level (ie manage the personalities), so that has to play out or be proven totally wrong.
But when it comes down to the nuts and bolts of the more technical side of things, having Walker and Mottola as first year guys in those types of roles with the pressure of them and the team, is another issue. The pitching and overall hitting are below average within the league, and are causes for concern.

I think the fault for the loss should be on Davis. He is terrible at the CF position.

Ya, that was a pretty bad path to the ball. Rasmus would have hauled that in with room to spare. But, that's what you get when your regular CF either hits the ball out of the park or whiffs like he can't see the ball.

Yeah, it's starting to look like the Jays spent a bunch of extra money for worse on field results. It is still early but it's at a point where the Jays are going to need to go 81-54 type of thing to even get a thought at that wild card play in game.
