I don't cheer for losses, but I can't say I get upset when they lose at this point.

Cheering for 30th is Oilers territory... but having a Jones / MacKinnon / Drouin / Barkov on this team will go a long way in making this team competitive again in the future. We need high end prospects, not copious amounts of limited potential ones.

Anyways, one of the 'big 4' is starting to look like a reality for this team.
(knowing that another key player is likely to be dealt)
And you cannot deny that is exciting. Also knowing that a top 3-5 pick will more than likely land on our NHL roster next season. Most other picks would not.

This is pretty much where I'm at as well. Went to the Columbus game yesterday and left having enjoyed the game even though it was a loss. I usually always am bummed about the losses but at this point there's really nothing wrong with getting a better draft selection and each loss bringing the management further into reality.
Lets just hope this quickly looks like an Ottawa rebuild instead of an Oiler rebuild!

I cheer for losses now, so that we can get more wins later.

Can you actually go to a game and cheer for losses? I know I cant. When watching a game I am definately cheering for them. When I look at scores and see a loss I can think its good we lossed.

Similar thinking. I find outright cheering for a loss pathetic, have some pride regardless of how bad your team is. But knowing they will lose a lot, having no expectations... as long as they play a respectable game it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if they lost every game for the rest of the season.

I won't be cheering for losses but I honestly wasn't mad at all after last night. I guess maybe Iggy's trade gave me closure on this season.

Meh, I am cheering for losses at this point. Don't really see how that makes me a bad fan, but if that's what you need to tell yourself, go for it. I want this team to land an impact player that we can build around so that we can be a contender again someday. Right now, cheering for wins is cheering against that. Unlike you, that's not something that I can do. I am not so dramatic as to call your position "disgusting", but I do find it nonsensical.

I won't be at all surprised if we end up with the 5th pick...just missing out on one of the 'sure things'.

If Feaster does his job and gets the "selloff" going there won't be much chance we won't be in the bottom three.
It will be interesting to see if Av's start selling.

The Avs don't have anything to sell. All the components worth anything there, are young and part of the solution going forward.
They're young and continuing to build, it's a process.

Considering the Flames April schedule I think they are a lock for a top 3 pick.

"At the top of that discussion is Paul Stastny. Earlier this month, Adrian Dater of the Denver Post suggested the Avs should look at trying to move Stastny and his $6.6 million cap hit through next season with the return of O'Reilly. It creates a bit of a logjam at center, and top-six centers are always at a premium."

Colorado and Nashville going into overtime. Not that we'd catch them anyway, but with a Colorado win they close the gap to 2 points, with us having a game in hand.
Colorado is a team where the definition of coaching just doesn't exist. They have an amazing core of young players, yet they can't score, their defense is mediocre to bad, but they got a good young goalie.
Their coaching is just absolutely dreadful.
Edit: Colorado just won it in OT.

For those on the boat sailing to failure, you'll want a Buffalo-Washington 3 point game tonight. Either way though, one of those teams will go ahead of us by 3 points. A Buffalo win in OT is the best case scenario as they have played more games.

This is why it is actually really important that they pull the trigger on Jbo by the deadline.
