The Vancouver Canucks have made two separate deals with the Florida Panthers which include the following:
Canucks trade
Matt D'Agostini
to the Panthers for
3rd round draft pick by the 2013 draft
Matt D'Agostini was not included in our plans in the future and his season in the NHL has been disappointing so to move him for a pick we felt was the smart thing to do in terms of asset management.
and the Canucks trade
Andrew Cogliano
to the Panthers for
Michael Sgarbossa
2013 2nd round draft pick by the draft
We would have been content to keep Cogliano as he is having a good season himself and is still considered young but the opportunity to recoup a pick in a draft we feel good about and to get a guy like Sgarbossa who is producing at an amazing clip in his 20 year old rookie season in the AHL (44 points in 49 games) was too much to pass up.
minor deal for the Sabres, but with a few guys out with injuries right now it's clear to us our depth is a bit wonky. Armstrong will likely slot in on the 3rd line for now, and be a 4th liner come playoff time. Sabres may look still to acquire one more similar player
