My somewhat educated guess is that all Netflix Canada accounts have a hidden instant queue. The feature is there, they just hide it from the interface.
I believe when Netflix was first released in Canada, all the clients (software on your TV, iPad, XBOX, phone, web interface) were a specific Canadian version, for which they didn't bother or didn't have time to add the instant queue function.
Some time later, they worked on consolidating the Canadian and US service. The content is now served up from a unified service (which supports Instant Queue), but unfortunately there are all these clients out there in Canada that don't have this feature. Since any kind of software update on some of these systems might be a big effort to coordinate with all the vendors, Netflix has opted to keep the Instant Queue feature turned off for Canadian users.
This all a complete guess, with very little source backing it up. If anyone knows differently, I would like to know where I might be wrong.
I have heard that a limited number of Canadian Netflix users have the Instant Queue feature. Not sure why it wouldn't just be an option to turn on.

I have the instant queue on my Canadian account, but weirdly not when I'm using the US service. I have no idea why that is.

Yeah I can use the instant queue when I switch my account to the Canadian service. It's right on the top bar, so it isn't hidden or anything. And when I switch to US, it disappears.

Anyone who has finished Breaking Bad season 4 and is waiting for season 5 to come to Netflix, you may want to change your catalogue to the UK or Ireland and have a peek.

Weird about the Carlin videos only being in the Canadian Netflix.

Archer is amazing, is there anything H. Jon Benjamin can't do.

We just finished season 2 and I hope the next season gets on Netflix soon. Such a great show.

I see Netflix just added Les Invincibles.
This show has a huge cult following in Quebec, and it's pretty funny. If you don't mind watching a show with subtitles, it's worthwhile.
It's about four friends in their 30s who feel too tied down, so they make a pact to all leave their girlfriends at the exact same moment. They think they'll live a life of freedom and recapture their youth, but things don't exactly always turn out they way they expect.

I stated this earlier in the thread, but it bears repeating:
Archer is worth buying on blu-ray. The extras on season 2 and season 3 are gut bustingly funny.

Wow, that is the worst 1st of the month release selections I have ever seen... hopefully more comes out in a couple days.
Will give House Of Cards a try though
edit- looks like netflix US released over 100 movies today- sure demonstrates how much better the selection is there, even if most of them are straight to video B movies.

Sure, but without going into detail, it's so easy to pay for your Netflix account (not doing anything wrong IMO) and get the US version of Netflix.

The US update wasn't that much better. About a dozen movies I recognized and 40 or so B-movies I've never heard of.

Some of them have boobies (or vampires AND boobies) so it isn't all bad.

I just watched it. I more or less liked it and will keep watching. Spacey makes the show so far. Some scenes were a little weak.
