Wow. Sundays are not fun days for the heat on the road.

Irving has not been good, but this was not a game he was going to win anyway.

The real test for the Heat will be how they respond to this game with 5 nights off til their next game.

That's BS. He had the team trailing on their 2nd shot of the game. He let in 2 goals on the first six or seven shots. He HAS to be tighter early.

Does that mean the players are off the hook?

He's been given zero offence today and the defence has been equally awful. Yes, he is partly responsible, but the team was not going to win this game.

It's especially hard on the team to play the whole game from behind. Sure players get some blame. But I never said being the goalie was easy. Brady Lamb blew his check on the first goal, but still. At this point when you compare Irvings starts to Taylors, it's an easy choice for a coach.

Byron definitely has a Fleury-like temperament and aggressive playing style.

When I did my Rookie video from last season, I was surprised how often Byron had the "bump of the night".

It was always an easy choice. Play the two AHL guys in the AHL while giving Irving enough starts to stay somewhat fresh for the NHL.

Not really that concerned about how Irving does in the AHL, especially with the few starts he is getting.

Let the two guys that are going to be with the Heat long term play and worry about Irving once the NHL season starts again.

Well you just know the TOR press are going to eat this one up. The amazing Marlies beat the team at the top of the league and shut them out to boot, Kadri is on fire etc etc.

We still lead the seasons series.

Also, we need to start getting some depth goals. More and more, if it's not Sven's line or Street's line, there's no support at all.

Sounds like I missed a great game!

Sucks it was to the baby leafs, but you can't win them all.
