If this baseball season is a movie, a double play ball is coming up soon and Saunders will go 6 strong

Maybe a Bay Area resident can help us, but I don't think A's fans and Giants fans hate each other. Different leagues.

Oakland and San Francisco sports fans, and just people in general, just don`t like each other at all. The 49ers and Raiders have stopped playing in preseason because there were too many brawls and stabbings at games.

That is a huge double play ball. Josh Hamilton is going to get big time paid this offseason but whoever signs him is taking on some major risks not just off the field, but on the field as well. Best thing Texas could do unless he'll take a hometown discount, is let him walk.

Plus 1 for someone who's lived in the San Fran. it's got less to do with the A's and Giants then it does with the two cities.

I didn't think the protest would win, but I mean if ever there was one that should, this would be it. One game "series" makes this call even worse. Not that somehow it wouldn't be awful if there was a three game series, but at least Atlanta would get another chance.

I still think Texas is the best team in baseball but It's a crime against baseball that Michael Young is starting and batting 6th in a playoff game.

They should have called the game in the 8th instead of letting fans influence the outcome of the game. Braves fans really embarrassed themselves. Bad calls happen, they choked the game away themselves.

To brush it off as "bad calls happen" is pretty disingenous. This will go down as an infamous bad call that will be replayed on sports shows years down the road with other bad calls that have lived on.

Also, did anyone else feel bad for Chipper Jones at the end of the game. He looked like he was ready to go back on the field to salute the fans one last time as an active player, which is always an emotional moment for players, but the fans just didn't seem to give a **** at that moment as they were caught up in the controversy.
He kind of looked out at the crowd a couple of times from the dugout, as if he was seeing if they would settle down and want to send him off, but as the booing and bottle throwing continued, he just put his head down and went to the locker room. Kind of a sad moment.
The crappy part is, a small portion of the fans were chanting his name for a curtain call soon after he left, but the damage was done.

It wasn't really even a wrong call. Would be hard to say it definitively wasn't called according to the rule book. And I've definitely seen infield flies called that deep in other games this year. The big argument is that it was called late. So what. The late call benefitted the running team, not the cards.

It was the wrong call and it's not even debatable in my opinion., it was also called by a Left field umpire who had no business calling it. It was a huge blow to the Braves in one of the most key positions of the game. Fans should be outraged, they handled it in a pretty ugly way.

Here is Chipper's response about the Infield Fly call
"CHIPPER JONES: Well, ultimately I think that when we look back on this loss, we need to look at ourselves in the mirror. We put ourselves in that predicament, down 6 2. You know, that call right there is kind of a gray area. I don't know. But I'm not willing to say that that particular call cost us the ballgame. Ultimately, three errors cost us the ballgame, mine probably being the biggest. Did it cost us one out? Did it cost us one run, possibly more? Yes. But I'm not willing to sit here and say that that call cost us the ballgame."
Here is the whole interview ..

Good for ol Chipper to take the high road there. Let the fans and every analysts rip the umpires for one of the worst calls I've ever seen.

Did I lost here that if Soto starts behind the plate the Rangers lose?

No you haven't. Where? When? Which game? It was 225 feet from home. I can't believe you've seen one further out this season, or ever, than that.
One of the worst calls I can remember across sports. The call in the Rams-Packers game was significantly closer than this.
