Icon48 Central Scouting releases 2013 Draft 'A List' Prospects

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=637038

Some players to keep track of while you track Flames Prospects

Quote:
"In the past, an 'A List' player was considered among the top 60 and a 'B List' player was a third-, fourth-, or fifth-round consideration," Marr said. "Now an 'A List' player is first-round consideration … a top 30 candidate, while a 'B List' player is a second- or third-round candidate.

"We've put more of an emphasis differentiating the top end. When we ran this by the scouting directors, it was something that was unanimous, so we agreed to revise the rankings scale."

Nichushkin just signed a new 3 year contract with Chelyabinsk, so I wonder how that will affect his draft stock.

I'll guess negatively.

Really though I have no problems taking Russians that come over to play MJ... they're showing some committment to playing in North America... guys signed to professional contracts in Russia though? Not so much.

Next year looks really deep at the top. At least three guys I'd probably take over Yakupov assuming they perform to expectations.

Looks to be lots of good centers available at the top end of the draft next season

Interesting to see how Hunter Shinkaruk progress without Emerson Etem playing with him this fall. Why is he listed as Centre when he primarily plays LW for the Medicine Hat Tigers?

There was a video on the Flames website where Kerr interviewed Todd Button at the end of the draft and asked him about McKinnon and Jones as the top prospects in the 2013 draft and Button said a kid from Sweden would be held in the same regard.

Wonder if that kid Button is referring to is on the above list for still under the radar. Maybe Elias Lindholm?

Fairly certain he was referring to ELias Lindholm.
