I don't know
In the original Universe the only guy was Vader, but just like a cheap Sissy, Luke didn't even think about trying to redeem Palpatine who was only doing the noble and right thing by removing corruption from the Galaxy.
I can only think of a couple of redemptions in the EU
Kyle Katarn, Jaina Solo and that idiot kid with the sun crusher, what's his face, oh and Mara Jade.
But none of those were Sith.
Crap forgot about Reven
The last jedi to fall completely to the Sith side of things was Jacen Solo, and there was no redeeming him.
I would love to see the whole fall or redeem ability where you could in theory switch classes. Sith Warrior or Inquisitor to their dead meat Jedi Counterpart.
But it should be easier to fall to the dark then rise to the light.

Empire basically has better everything though - better looks, better gear, better classes (every mirrored ability has a slight advantage to empire), and just more people that want to be the "bad guys". It makes perfect sense.
I was smart though and rolled on a PvE server where the imbalance is already considered to be not as bad. I can't imagine how bad it'd be on a PvP server.

My first two characters were Republic side, and that's the side that I really like playing but it seems that so many people want to play Imperial that I couldn't find anybody I know to play with so I gave up and went Imperial too maybe join this Kindread guild and meet some folks. I find it difficult to meet people in games anymore, guilds usually just wind up being chat rooms and even that's useless when you dont find anything to chat about.
Your population ratio is pretty much spot on, but the flip side to the bigger population is a way higher percentage of the Imperial players are dickwads compared to the Republic; it's Barrens chat everywhere you go; it's harder to find groups cuz there's so many folks wanting to do the same stuff. Pain in the ass.
Wish they had server transfers so I could find some Republic players to play with and not have to start from scratch... Really boring doing 30 levels of the exact same story lines yet again. RIFT had a period when it started where you could switch severs for free every few days until you found a server to settle on. That'd be so handy right now.

makes sense when you think about how many conversations there are in the game

Kyp Durron is the kid with the Sun Crusher. Luke also went to the dark side for a bit. The problem is the Sith are all but extinct in that time frame, which is why it is rare for Sith to be redeemed, rather than just dark side, while there are lots in the game.

I remember reading that comic series where Luke went to the dark side and promptly threw them in a storage box never to be seen again.
They are the perfect example of why the EU tends to be terrible.

Eh, I still enjoy pulling out the X-Wing series and reading through it. Not all the EU is bad.

I just read the book about Revan and had a blast. I highly recommend it for fans of the original KOTOR games.

Pretty much all of the old republic games have been solid, you get some real depth into Darth Malgus through the books and most of the characters that you run into.
The next book out is a few days away and that's about Darth Plageus, Darth Sideous' master, supposedly it gives a lot of behind the scenes stuff from the prequel movies that you don't see Palpatine doing.
Supposedly the future emperor salts his reputation as a master manipulator in this book.

Your devotion to the Expanded Universe hasn't helped you RetCon the Star Wars prequels. Or given your clairvoyance enough to find a decent non VHS or LaserDisc copy of the Original Trilogy.

I find your lack of faith, disturbing.
I can't force choke you, but I can challenge you to a game of Starcraft and hold you in a choke, which would amount to the same thing, I have to assume.

Really enjoying this game, and find myself really disappointed when I get light side points as a Sith Marader. The story is fun to follow, and combat is pretty well done.
