The reason for that is because it's junk paint, with
little emulsion content.

Do this as a test...Take a "Mr. Clean magic eraser" to the walls painted with the "Walmart wonder paint"...does the sponge cause "flat" spots (remove the sheen)? Does the sponge pull the pigments off the wall? Now do the same to the areas with the GP "overpriced", "inferior" product (it's been +30 days since you painted)? What's the verdict with that?

High emulsion enamels are harder to get coverage with...Any
pro knows this. It's all about timing (and technique during) the backroll,
and getting tight to your cut lines.
Pulling off the wall with the tape?
You pulled your tape
wet...(like any pro knows to do), right?
You cut your tape lines (if you let it dry out), like any pro knows to do, right?
The reason it "pulled" is
because of the emulsion in the paint...(and the above mentioned

).
On the subject of taping? "Seven day removal", $5.00 a roll "painters tape" is one of the biggest scams on the market. The junk bleeds like crazy (even well burnished) and stretches crooked when you're pulling it. Buy the "cheap" white high-tack; tape it, burnish it, paint it, pull it, done. No bleed
and no tape "tear off"; as long as if you pull it
wet, and the surface you taped was prepped properly and dried down for 6-8 hours...

100% BS. The
quality of the emulsion is what drives the price point of any latex product on the market today (don't believe me? Do a search on it) . I can likely buy the GP (HP2000?) product, for the same price you paid per gallon @ Walmart for CIL's "chalk and water".
And don't get me wrong here, CIL/Glidden makes some very fine product...
but you won't find it at Walmart.
And I've been painting since
before there was even such a thing as "100% Acrylic" latex paint on the market. Take it for what it's worth.
But
anybody can paint...right? I mean it's
just painting...
Ron
PS... I do
very little painting any more; I'm a high end shower guy (Tile Setter)...and a custom Carpenter/Woodfinisher(stains and lacquers)...it pays
way better money.
Maybe that's because
anybody can paint?
