Haha! Yeah, I bid on that like a couple of hours before he posted it.
Heres hoping I get it. If not then Jagger is going to have to get creative!

No wonder they are poor if their jersey shop doesn't even work!
I think Locke's team might be richer than these guys!

We've been fighting against the threat of administration and bankruptcy for about 15 years, including points being deducted in the last couple of seasons - hopefully we're on the straight and narrow now.
Just got my ticket for the "massive" Carling Cup 1st round clash away at Southampton next month. Local rivals, but first competitive match between the two teams for 23 years. I hope I make it out alive.
Bournemouth are in the same league as Tranmere this season (the first meeting between the two sides is on 21st August), so I'm sure I'll have more to say after the game.
Up the Cherries - in all departments!

Good God, pretty soon we might have enough numbers for one of the networks to justify broadcasting League One matches! It looks like the first league match of the season for the Cherries will be at the Valley, too bad I won't be back in time for the start of the season.
On a more serious note, last night I started to think how nice it would be to have a MotD highlight program here in Canada. Were the highlights rights sold to Sportsnet with the live rights? I believe Yahoo! UK got all of the online highlight rights when they bought the UK rights.

I've seen Tranmere play at Dean Court (is it still called that?) once. It was a long journey and, of course, the Rovers lost 2-0 iirc. Good pies there (hey, there's a common theme!)
Good luck to the Cherries except when you play the SWA, of course

That's pretty crazy when a team is barely saved from being kicked out of the Football League to being promoted!
Anything can happen in the lower leagues.!

Yep, 7th August at the Valley. That's a tough start to the season for us. I think Charlton will be one of the favourites for automatic promotion this season, along with Saints and Sheffield Wednesday.

Yeah, still called Dean Court. It was called the "Fitness First Stadium" under a sponsorship deal for a while, but seems to have reverted to its original name again.
Glad you had a good time even though you lost - the south coast is a great place to be when the sun is shining!

No panic buys at Tranmere Rovers - Les Parry
Quote:
Tranmere manager Les Parry says he will not be forced into panic buying. Rovers have had several trialists, but Parry told BBC Radio Merseyside: "The players we bring in have to be the right players and right for the club.
"We can't just be bringing them in because we're short on numbers. We'll keep on looking and we hope to unearth one or two nuggets."
"On average we get offered five or six players a day, and the later you get, the more desperate players get."
He continued: "But it's no good just bringing them in. You have to sift through them and bring the ones that you think will do OK.
"I'm sure they'd like the guarantee of two or three games [to impress] but they're just not getting it."

Crap. I sent in an application to play but now I doubt I'm going to get the call to suit up.

100/1 odds on Tranmere winning League 1.
Actually, I have no reason to dislike Rovers except that my footballing loyalties lie elsewhere in League 1, and with a side the bookies think have a real shot at the play-offs.
UP THE ALBION!

There's always a chance; I think...
I'll try and get some tickets to see the Albion v Rovers. I don't think they come here until sometime in March though. Last seasons meetings were 2-1 Rovers (A) and 3-0 Albion (H). I missed that fixture but it was a comprehensive win on all accounts.

Friendly vs Vauxhall Motors
Quote:
Tranmere's pre-season preparations continue with a friendly against Vauxhall Motors at Rivacre Park on Tuesday night.
Rovers are expected to field a number of trialists and youth team players alongside a handful of professionals, with the rest of the squad featuring on Wednesday night at Prenton Park against Nottingham Forest.

I know we're not supposed to post whole articles, but, that paragraph is the whole article....
Hopefully Tranmere run over a Vauxhall!

Yup that's the fun part. When the new season starts the common supporter is excited! Desperate to go back to the stadium in August, see the new team, the new signings, and even if the team is hopeless, the fan has managed to convince himself that "we might be able to spring a surprise this year". That's the magic of fandom!
