He was suspended one game for a hitting a guy from behind into the boards. Chay Genoway I think was the d-man he hit. Chay missed a number of games due to injury as a result. I remember reading about this on a St. Cloud State message board I came across. Aaron has just had a bad year offensively. Hopefully his senior year will be a breakout the Flames have enough defensive forwards already.

Still no Nemisz last night.

When interviewed before last game Boughner had said Game 3 so apparently he's still not ready.

Marvin was also suspended more recently for three games after a check to the head of Blake Geoffrion.

Aaron Marvin had an assist on St. Cloud States 3rd goal in a 4-3 double overtime win to move on to the NCAA Western Final.

Nemisz will likely make return to lineup in the second round. He had a cut to his upper leg that required 40 stitches.

Fantastic, SCSU's first ever tournament win! Next up, Blake Geoffrion's Wisconsin (1) squad... to whom SCSU lost in the WCHA semi-final. Can Marvin's Huskies get revenge against the Badgers and advance to the Frozen Four? Game is tonight (Saturday)!

Aaron Marvin and St. Cloud State fall 5-3 to Wisconsin in the NCAA west final. Aaron had 1 assist in the losing effort. He finishes the season with 5 goals and 11 assists in 39 games. Last year he had 10 goals and 17 assists in 38 games. Hopefully next year when he is a senior he lights it up.

Watched part of the game online and he still is pretty raw. He reminded me alot of Pardy the number of times he fell over/got pushed over. Made some nice passes that were not converted into goals. Did some good work along the boards. Did well in face off circle. I would sign him after he graduates but not expecting too much from him offensively.

Might Howse get a few games in Abbotsford now that he's done? It's not like there are many fantastic offensive threats down there right now.

Howse doesn't have a pro contract and so can't play in Abbotsford, IIRC. Sutter could sign him to one for this purpose, but does anyone know how many pro contracts the Flames have? There is a limit and I think Calgary is close to it.

Don't think it will happen:

1. Howse is not signed by the Flames yet
2. Even if the Flames were to sign him, he wouldn't be eligible for the AHL playoffs (if I understand the AHL rules correctly)

Howse is a 1991 birth year. He is producing REALLY well for a 2009-draft prospect.

However you would be looking at the 1990 kids (2008-draft) for realistic AHL options. Wahl, Bouma, Brodie and Nemisz fall in that group but only Wahl is on a team not likely to play deep into the CHL playoffs. (Peterson is the one 2009-draft option, but I don't see that happening.)

Howse turns 19 on July 6th.

Wahl had an assist tonight in a 4-3 win.

HV-71 - Skellefteå game starts in a moment, legal stream here.

Erixon is #44 in black.
Other notables from Skellefteå #7 David Rundblad and #5 Adam Larsson. Erixon is paired with #16 former NHLer Ivan Majesky.

Be sure you remember that Erixon has black jersey because other number 44 is Janne Niinimaa.

Average. Game ended to HV-71 win 2-0 and game winning goal was result of Erixon's mistake. It was a lession for him not to leave spot in front of goal, in Sweden they might hybrid defensive zone coverage (mix between man to man defence and defending position) but when he comes over to North America he should never leave goal crease wide open. That was the only major mistake he made. He had all evening long problems with gap control, area he usually excels for, and making quick first passes, he has tendency to hesitate instead.

Both top pair d-man are now out, other left game in second period and Adam Larsson wasn't in line-up at all apparently so it ment more ice time and responsibility for Erixon which may have had negative influence to his performance. He was used on first PP unit but he's not comfortable quarter-backing it, he's like Jay Bouwmeester: not the one you want to be the top-guy who runs it. He finished with 2 shots, 2 PIM, -1 and 20:02 of ice time.

Anyone have an update on Bjorklund? Haven't heard his name in a long time.
