Default Help with fixiing a pull starter

Hey guys,

I am trying to fix my 1981 honda odyssey dune buggy. The first thing that needs fixing is the pull start. The pull start will not recoil so I have taken it off to try to fix it. It seems it is missing a part. I have been using this link as a guide.

http://g2buggy.g2-innovations.com/fl250/pullstart2.htm

It seems I may be missing the "drive dogs". It seems there are three of these little guys and I have none. (picture in the link with the green arrows)

Does anyone have any idea where in Calgary I may be able to find these? I have tried googling it but have had no luck. I know trying to find a part for a 28 year old dune buggy is not the easiest thing to do.

I was also thinking of taking it into bow cycle as they fixed it last time, problem is it took them almost 3 months to fix it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks!

Oh man a buddy of mine used to have an old Odyssey. That thing was such a bitch to start it was unreal.

Couldn't you just buy another pull start portion of the motor? I would think the pull start thing hasn't changed too much in the past while. Maybe try e-bay or something.

I can offer no advice of my own to help you fix it. But if you want someone who can fix it, phone Ted Watkins, he lives maybe 10 minutes SW of Calgary, just a bit west of Red Deer Lake School and south. He can fix anything. Extremely reasonable too.
