Pubs in the south
Does anyone know of a good pub to take 3 seniors to? One of them owns a pub in B.C. so I would like to take them somewhere nice and with really good lunch food. Maybe somewhere with really good steak sandwiches or something Albertan, but with a nice atmosphere? The only pubs I've been to are Limericks and Peanuts.

The Kilt & Caber in McKenzie Town is one of my favourite pubs in the city. I'd go more often but it's too far for me.

Oh Goshes no. The Darby Arms is terrible. Terrible service.
Someone mentioned the Kilt and Caber, it's by far one of the best pubs in the city.

Exactly what I was about to say. Haven't been there since I lived in Calgary 4 years ago, I miss that place. And I see someone mentioned Dixon's. Oh how I miss their glorious wings, floating in so much hot sauce you'd almost think you'd have gotten it in soup form.

Don't take them to Kinger's! Not the place for seniors, cougars only at that place.

Dixon's in Midnapore was my home away from home. I love it there, the food is good, the staff is nice, and they have lots of big TVs for hockey.

All the ones above are awesome (except the Black Swan, WTF?) and the Darby arms is a good one to take older folks to. However, like others before me said, the Kilt rules. Another good one for wings is the Regal Beagle on Macleod Tr. and Southland Dr. ish... It's across the street North of that Rona/Walmart block. The Beagle flavoured wings are awesome.

The Black Swan is OK. During the day it has a good ambience (night-time on weekends are a bit sketchy) and Wednesday wings are awesome!!! The service is really good, but that might be because my husband's friends practically live there and he's there EVERY Wednesday.

Add me too the list when I lived in McKenzie I went to the Kilt all the time but now I’m a bit too far
I know most of the staff I highly recommend it
I don’t really like Dixions however…always crowded, crappy service, the wing deal is good but it takes about and hour to get them and they are usually cold

Coach and Horses Ale Room
150 Millrise Blvd SW
Pretty nice spot... dark enough to be a pub... bright enough to be not dingy...
Been there a few times, service and food was good.

The Black Swan is okay for a one-nighter too. Lots of trampy girls there.

The Reagle Beagle is my favorite pub, amazing wings and specials everyday. Great prices. It's on McLeod, by Cash Converters/Rona. Kilt is great as well.
