Default Final Fantasy 8 Compatibility with Vista

I have a laptop that I recently upgraded from XP to Vista Business. Before anyone asks why, it is a tablet and Vista is far better for tablets. I get Vista for free from MSDN AA so it didn't cost me anything.

Anyway, I started playing FF8 before I did the upgrade and have like 20 hours invested in it, and now it wont work in Vista. It just goes directly to a black screen.

I have thought it was video drivers but I haven't been able to find ANY drivers for it, I am guessing it may be since it is an integrated card (Intel 945GM Express) .

Anyone have any ideas? or do I need to get a XP box setup to play this?

Sounds like it's a video driver issue (possibly DirectX).

Have you tried running the game as an Administrator?
