Oh man, not only do we suck on ice, but the injuries are really starting to pile up on us too. Talk about a long season ahead.

Jeez, Semin is really playing well since we acquired him from GUNIT last week. Another two assists for him to push his total to 9 points in his first 6 games as an Islander. He's a friggin +7!
The guys expected to contribute continue to do so with Jagr getting a goal and an assist to bump his total to 9 goals so far this year while Demitra continues to pile on the points scoring his 4th of the season extending his point scoring streak to 7 games.
Ward gets the W in the 4-1 victory over Washington to improve his record to 8-3.
Things are going well on the Island except for our pathetic power play which went 1 for 8 on the night and currently sits 2nd last in the entire CPHL humming along at a laughable 9.3%!! I mean the JACKETS have a better PP than us...
Rematch in Washington on Wednesday.

Fitting result from the two bottom feeders in the Gretzky Conference. The Pens fail to get rolling. The good news is that Lehtonen is undefeated in the Pens net. This team really needs to go on a good run to get back into playoff contention.

Kings 3 Flyers 2 (OT)
Another game another loss for the Flyers. At least this time they made it to overtime before disappointing their fans and GM. Dominic Hasek continued his stellar play this season allowing 3 goals on an amazing 19 shots, the team is still trying to figure out how he managed to make those other 16 shots. With great efforts like this from their star goalie the Flyers can only expect more good things to happen. The third and fourth liners continued to out perform the top guys for the Flyers as Jay Pnadolfo scored without help from any of his teammated and Jason Krog filled in for 21 minutes and finished +1. The addition of Michael Nylander can’t come any sooner as what should be a high powered offense has more often than not been fair medioore. With only one day off some of these players had better use the day off to get healthy and rested because the Flyers need to start putting some wins together to save this season.
Farm Report:
Phantoms win!!! At least there was some positives for the city of Philadelphia tonight.

Best game of the season so far for the Avs. Finally the offense was clicking and all lines were contributing. Back to .500.

Team is seriously sucking up the joint. Nick Fugere would have won the game for us but the sim refuses to let him play. It might be my fault though as I am trying to play Lehtinen on the LW in one line and rw on the other. Oh well. All signs beginning to point to a shake up in Montreal after game 20. And no Ovechkin is still not available....

Nice win for the Thrashers over the Jets tonight. Gave Roloson the night off completely as Mason was starting and Daigneault dressed as the backup. It worked as Roloson is 100 again. Pavel Datsyuk (2nd game back from injury) had 2 goals and led the way in the win. Thrashers play the Lightning tomorrow before finally getting a day of rest.

Kings pull out a victory at home tonight under the watchful eye of new Coach Winnfield. Badly outshot and taking too many penalties, the Kings were able to squeek out a win with former Flyer Valtteri Filpulla coming up big against his old mates in overtime. The Kings finally get a day off to rest some of their players.
Tim Thomas, who was supposed to be a weakness on the club, has turned out so far to be the best player on the team. Disproving doubters both in the NHL and CPHL.
Notes: Martin Havlat rejoins the team for the next game against the Devils.
Goalie Statistics
Dominic Hasek (FLY), 16 saves out of 19 shots, L, 3-6-1
Tim Thomas (KIN), 26 saves out of 28 shots, W, 8-4-1
Power Play Conversions
FLYERS 0 for 7
KINGS 1 for 1
Game Stars
1 - Tim Thomas (KIN)
2 - Jay Pandolfo (FLY)
3 - Teemu Selanne (FLY)

I must be one of the guys with the screwed up lines. Not sure what else I can do to try and get Turco to sit his malnourished butt on the bench for a game.

Well Thibault got hammered in his first real start this season. We didn't seem to be outplayed too badly, but the 14 saves out of 19 for Thibault was not what we were looking for!
Game 4 against the Hawks in our back to back home and home is next for us!

After airlifting about 10 guys in from the AHL for this game I am pleased with the result. Goffie's team must really suck if they can't beat what I iced

Leafs lose to B's 8-7 to complete home and home.
Well this was a weird one. First of all, Pascal Leclaire was terrible again. He stopped only 10 out of the 15 shots he faced. Lundqvist wasn't able to get the day off because he had to relieve Leclaire. Neither goalie fared well and the Leafs allowed 8 even strength goals. Pretty bad.
On a positive note, the offense played well again. Hejduk and Boyle each had 4 points. The offense has been pretty productive so far.
On a weird note, the Leafs PP is starting to get hot and went 3 for 2 tonight. Early in the 3rd period the B's took a minor. The Leafs scored on that power play. Then scored less than a minute later without the B's taking another penalty. Apparently the refs forgot to let the man out of the box, so the Leafs get a bit lucky there.
