Default Hockey's Future article

Interesting Article. Nice to see our farm kids turning some heads and having more people realize that it isn't all 'doom and gloom' on future front in Calgary.

Yet we still have the worst prospect pool in the NHL

Good article overall. I'd agree with pretty well everything the author said, but I'm a little disappointed they didn't talk about Joni Ortio.

The rankings on the side are pretty good, but I'm not sure I'd put Seabrook or MacMillan that high up the list.

Seabrook hasn't been very good in his own zone (like they said) probably because of his size. The games I've been to a few games he hasn't really been able to handle the bigger forwards like our other d-men.

MacMillan hasn't shown any promise in his 14 games with the Heat. Maybe he just needs time at the AHL level, but I'm not so sure he's that great of a prospect.

I considered talking about Ortio, but the truth is I've almost never seen him play besides maybe on international game and his stats are terrible this year (although I understand it's because he's played on a really bad team).

As for the rankings, they were done earlier in the summer. No doubt they'll be re-calibrated as the season goes along. I agree with your assessments BTW.

Not quite the worst. It's better than Philly's
