				 [Bump] Boycott

Just noticed that Pepper24's sig. states they have boycotted Rexall Drug stores and GM products.

I'm just curious what products or stores etc. people have decide to boycott and why?

My list isn't that big, but I will go out of my way to avoid the following stores:

Liquor Depot: Crap selection, consistantly rude staff and over priced.

Rona: All rona products have French first (peeves me off) their stores always have crap all over the aisles, Lazy ill-informed staff, their lumber is always stacked in a way that almost everything is warped.

Walmart: Just because of the way they do business ..... cut throat.

Planet Organic: I guess because I've seen way too much rotten produce and their prices are way too high.

Shell Gas stations, Petro Canada, ..... Canadian Tire is rapidly approaching boycott status with me too.

All Apple products, because every time I go into the CP tech talk section a discussion about apple is always at the top.

It's not exclusive to CP. Apple takes the headlines everywhere. I counted 4 on CNN.com earlier today.

I only buy pet supplies at pet stores that don't sell live animals, especially the oodles, uggles, etc, so Petland never gets any of my money. Fairplay in Kensington, Petsmart and Pet Planet is where I buy everything needed.

The Canadian Tire automotive centre because everytime I have taken my car there it has come out of the garage with more things wrong with it than when I brought it in.

I boycott all companies that boycott Alberta Oil. I might have to Boycott all of California

So far on the list is Whole Food and Bed Bath.

I wonder if those companies will now be boycotting off shore produced oil or the Blood Oil coming out of Africa.

			Current Boycotts:
   Nestle - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nestlé_boycott
Proctor and Gamble - unnecessary animal testing
             see http://www.boycottpandg.co.uk/
Past Boycotts:
Pepsi - for having bottling factories in Myanmar (Burma)
Kraft - were owned by Phillip Morris, so I needn't say more
Loblaws - owned E.B. Eddy, a primary clear-cutter in Temagami

I would list Toyota & Suzuki in my boycotts as they currently operate in Myanmar, but since I don't buy ANY cars, I don't think that counts. And I try to avoid Walmart for their anti-union activities and unethical business practices.

Buycotts:
Hershey - For funding the Milton Hershey School
     http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milton_Hershey_School
TD Bank - I do my banking with TD in part due to Corporate Knights ranking them as the most ethical bank in Canada in terms of diversity, environmental programs, community support, etc.
Also I try to buy electronics from the companies at the top of this list and avoid those at the bottom:

I forgot I also boycott any think sold or advertised during Flames games because the commercials are so annoying, they do the opposite of their intended purpose and turn me off the products.
You'll never catch me wearing a Bulova watch shopping in Safeway playing Sports Select while ordering Panago's on my Telus phone while my Tundra is parked outside.

Have a personal boycott against all Made in China produce. Have done so for 6 years. China is the only country in the world with no animal welfare laws at all - unbelievable cruelty goes on there. I am pleased to report though that the Chinese are finally starting to draft their first animal welfare laws - I will watch and see how long it takes to come to fruition.
