Brodie and Cameron called up for AHL playoffs
With their season done in the OHL, Cameron and Brodie called up to the Heat.
Quote:
TRIO OF COLTS GET CALLED UP Three Barrie Colts were called up by their respective NHL clubs on Wednesday. The Calgary Flames called up Bryan Cameron and T.J. Brodie and assigned them to their AHL affiliate the Abbotsford Heat. The Heat trail the Hamilton Bulldogs 2-1 in the Western semi-finals with game four on Thursday night. The Los Angeles Kings sent forward Kyle Clifford to the Manchester Marnochs, also of the AHL. Manchester is tied with the Worcester Sharks at two games each, with game five being played tonight

With all the injuries they'll probably get to play.

As much as I do love the thought of these guys being in the lineup, I don't know if the playoffs are the place to start putting in new, inexperienced guys. Why mess with success? I'd like to see the same team play that carried them this far. By the way, that includes Wahl.

Kronwall and one of their loaners got hurt the other night and they had a whole whack of other guys already out.

It's the AHL. winning isn't first development is.
Well that's what we heard all the time.

Presumably it is Playfair's decision whether they get into the lineup or not. If guys are banged up or struggling why not put them in? If guys are performing well then they should stay in the lineup. A little competition for a game-day roster spot never hurt anyone.

I'm not arguing that, I just didn't know that injuries were piling up.
If injuries weren't piling up, I'd use the same roster that got them this far.
Then again, it is the AHL, and it's for development...

Even if injuries weren't piling up, I'm all for having more choice for the coach to put into his lineup. If Playfair puts them in or leaves them out, I assume it is on the basis of what gives the team the best chance to win and not solely for the sake of development.

It is nothing more then letting the get a taste of professional hockey and what to expect. I don't think they will play. Chances are both will be in the AHL next year.

I'd rather see guys like Cameron and Wahl get this valuable playoff experience than Chucko and Cunning.

I think its safe to say that Cam Cunning will not be on the Calgary Flames roster in the future. However, Chuko has shown in his brief stints and the AHL that he could be a good 4th line player.

A monarch is someone who is the head of a monarchy, or a government that is lead/ruled by one person (such as kings in feudalism).

I don't even know if it would be a good idea anymore for Cameron or Brodie to come in. The team is doing very well right now, I don't know if they should disrupt a good thing.
Although getting a second "kid line" would be nice if they can perform as well as the Bouma-Wahl-Bancks line.
