Truck guys?? HELP!!
My truck is black, and i'm thinking about Blacking it out fully. But want to get some opinions first. Right now I'm riding on the stock-chrome rims with 18inch A/T Mudd tires. I've got the big Chrome Grille on the front as well (stock on the Lariat), Also I have the black tri-folding tonneau cover.
I'm serisouly considering ditching the Chrome rims, and putting on some Black rims (perhaps rockstars) and tinting out the front windows as well.
It's too damn cold to go out to take a picture of what my truck currently looks like. But here is a picture off google that is identicle to what mine presently looks like (minus tonneau cover)
What do you think? Stick with the chrome, or black it out fully?

Black it out completely.

It might look pretty awesome with it blacked out completely.

the whole murdered out thing seemed pretty cool a few years ago when it was a newish idea....now....not so much
imo of course
if you do end up doing it, go 100%, no half-assing....ie. running boards, side mirrors, door handles, bumpers, emblems etc....no chrome

Yeah to be honest, I'm not that big a fan of a completely blacked out truck. I'd black out the windows (or maybe just a super dark tint, but not quite blacking it out if you know what I mean) but other than that, I'd probably leave it as is.

Cute looking trucks are not real trucks.

Rims gotta sparkle but black out the rest. My car is completely blacked out except the rims.

I've got a black truck also. Personally I think too much of one color can be a bad thing. Also be prepared to get profiled by the cops.

Black rims look killer. I like gun metal grey, too.
Don't tint the front windows, though...nothing but a hassle or at least it was for me with the fuzz.

Huh, I don't own a truck, but I always though real "truck guys" were just dudes who cared about owning a solid truck that did it's job and could haul heavy stuff....not how to pimp out their rides to go along with an aesthetic theme that matches their modern lifestyle.
What's the truck version of a rice-rocket called?

Just an opinion of course but I think the whole blacked out car/truck thing is ridiculous. Whenever I see one I think: "Goth my ride".

I have a black truck and I put all black wheels on it. I didn't like it. It looks much better with some chrome in the wheel.. I'd go with black wheels but with chrome accents. That would look sharp. All black wheels on a all black truck gives you too much black.
If you want to see what your truck will look like with various types /colors of wheels... use this virtual tool...

I think you have it backwards. If I was lowering my truck 3 inches, adding a body kit, and putting on chrome galor with 28" chrome rims on pirelli racing tires, then it's a rice-rocket.
But putting on Black Monster/Rockstar rims. 2.5 inch leveling kit with 35in offroad tires doesn't make it a rice rocket. It makes it the rice-rocket crusher
Thanks for all the input guys! I'm taking a run out to Action Truck Supplies tomrrow. I'm undecided if I'm going to black it out or not. Like someone said above, no half-ass job. So I'm not so sure if I wanna rip the front chrome Grille off or not. It could be creating more work then I want with that, and I certainly don't want to go half-ass.

This is why some nice chrome or chrome lipped rims would look nice because you could leave the bumpers as is. Just make sure you tint ALL the windows, I don't get the half tint thing. Even if you have 35 all the way around it looks pretty dark on a black truck with what I assume is a black interior. You don't need to go limo tint and get pulled over all the time. I have full tint 35 all the way around on my car and never got pulled over once and my windows look dark with the black interior.
