So yes...I play World of Warcraft. I have been playing for close to 4 years now.

Love it.

Anyway, I have started a guild and we have a 15 person vent right now. The vent has been paid for up until the middle of January, by another player. He says he won't be paying for it after that. This is fine. The vent was for his old guild which broke down a few months ago.

We're a 10 man raiding guild, so I'm thinking a 15 person vent would suffice. But we are looking at going to 25 man raids.

I know vents are cheap and that's not the issue. What I'm looking for is WHO to get my vent through? I'm in Calgary and the majority of guildies are spread around the US (Texas, Florida, California)

Any suggestions of who I should be going through? I know the common names like Typefrag, etc, etc. But WHERE should I be purchasing through? Does the location matter? (Seattle, Montreal, Houston, etc, etc?)

? Help ?

I got my guild's vent through Darkstar.
Seems pretty darn solid.

And I don't think location matters as long as no one person ends up with really bad pings. Most centres in NA should be fine.

The boys and I use primary target. Never had a problem with them.

I use Typefrag for my guild's ventrilo and have had no issues. I picked Dallas as our location since the ping, which typically isn't even an issue in vent, is similar for everyone on both coasts.

Is there a way I can test the ping with the different providers? So I can decide WHICH data center to go with? I'm probably gonna go with TypeFrag.

We use Defcon for our servers. http://www.defconservers.com/

No problems ever and a fairly strong choice of server locations.

Hey just a little update...

I've decided to go with Darkstar. After telling them I was looking at TypeFrag, they gave me an extra discount off the server.

So rather being $134.45/year ($11.20/month), I'm gonna be paying $130/year which is approx $10.83/month. This is for a 50 person server.

I love competition.
