Default Selling old Jewelry

So after a year of seperation and now divorce my ex has given me back her engagement ring, I obviously don't want the thing hanging around so I want to sell it.

Besides the usual pawn shop option does anyone know any places that buy jewellery and will give some decent return on it?

and yes I'm aware that I spelled Jewellery wrong in the thread title

Don't expect to get even half what you paid for it. Used jewellry is a dime a dozen. If I were you I would try sell it on www.kijiji.com its a free site and ive used it alot..just make sure you go to the canada page first, then calgary (if this is where you live) Don't go to a pawn shop! I tried to get rid of my old jewellry from my first marriage, they were willing to give me 40 bucks for a 700 dollar diamond wedding band..and 25 for a gorgeous opal and diamond ring that was only worn twice and was very new

Where did you buy the ring? I ask because I just bought at Spence, and the one thing they offer is a 100% buy back of the diamond at any point. And the diamond represented about 75% of the cost of the ring.

Hmm, there's a guy in the NW that buys back stuff like that. He only offered us $400 for a whack load of gold and platinum. We were giving in over $3,500 though. I went everywhere you could imagine and people just aren't buying back, I guess there is no re-sale value in that for them. I'd go with Ebay or kijiji as well, selling it to someone directly you'll get more money than otherwise. I'd make sure to go get an appraisal on it for when you do sell it to prove it's worth.
