Nice to see the invites, although obviously a lot can change by December.

Good to see. I think Nemisz has a really good chance of being on the team and maybe play with Hall.

Brodie will be in tough i think.

I think Windsor has the most invitees; Hall, Ellis, Nemisz, Henrique, all 4 can make it. Solid program in Windsor.

Also nice to see 4 Calgary boys invited.

24 of the players are already drafted.....of these, 9 are drafted by Northwest Division teams (almost 40% by my rough math). Another little measure of how competitive our division is and will continue to be.

Vancouver with one player and the others (CGY, EDM, MIN, and COL) with 2 players each.

Really happy to see Brodie get some attention. Had a fantastic season and deserves it. However, don't think his chances are all that gerat. However, there are a number of dmen on the list that could find themselves in the NHL next year too.

Nemisz should make it as well. Wasn't suprised to see him on there.

Of course, their guy was on the top line last year, our guys just got invited to camp. Bit early to declare victory, no? Stuff like this makes us look bad.

Hodgson has shown to be nothing short of a great pick so far. Must be nice picking up high like that, but they sure have a solid player in the pipeline with him.

Why so few WHL kids?

6 of 24 forwards are WHL? (10 OHL players for comparison, 11 if you include Tavares; 6 from the Q)
5 of 17 defenseman are WHL? (8 OHL players for comparison)

That is a solid ~40% extra from the OHL over the WHL.

Is the WHL looking at a weak crop of players this year? I know the leagues each cycle differently from strong to weak and am curious if this reflects a weaker period for the WHL coming up? Or is it some other bias? Just random?

Just the cycles of development.
Remember it wasn't too long ago the WHL owned the World Juniors. The OHL right now has more of the higher end talent than the WHL.
