Help with internet settings...ugh
Anyone who dove into help me with my 'wireless help' thread can appreciate just how frustrated I am with anything to do with my home network.
Since I got the thing set up, the internet performance on the host has taken a giant dump.
Here's what I am experiencing:
-Speed degradation
-when I type a web address in the address bar, I get one of two results.
1. Page not found
2. Any number of search results pages from engines I never use
-I often have to refresh a page multiple times to get it to load, but this doesn't seem to be because of a slow connection and certain pages I can't get to load ever.
Any ideas?
This is what I'm seeing most of the time..

DNS server problems? Web cache problems? I am just randomly guessing but this might be an ISP problem. Have you talked to them?

No, and I dread it.
Would my cable signal be degraded as well if this were the case? It seems odd that the problem started when I changed everything last week and that it would suddenly be an ISP problem.

If your ISP's DNS server is buggered or your primary or secondary DNS addresses are not configured properly I could see it causing issues with not going to the right website. What DNS servers do is translate the website URL you typed in, to an actual IP address that allows you to connect to the server that page is hosted on. If there is something wrong with the servers you configuration is checking, or if you are checking the wrong ones, it might cause problems like you are describing.
Like I said I am just guessing about the specific cause, but this seems to me like something your ISP should be handling.

Shall I PM the logfile to you or post it here?

Can't hurt. Besides you know your ISP will claim
that, that's your problem.
Sorry I should have read the whole post. You can try posting it
here or there are numerous sites on the web.

Your browser is definitely hijacked!!!
Look at that monstrosity of a link you posted in the OP.

I hope you aren't using IE as a browser. If so, switch to Firefox, and do it right away.

This is almost certainly a case of browser hijack as others have suggested.

Address Not Found
Firefox can't find the server at www.calgarypuck.com.
The browser could not find the host server for the provided address.
* Did you make a mistake when typing the domain? (e.g. "ww.mozilla.org" instead of "www.mozilla.org")
* Are you certain this domain address exists? Its registration may have expired.
* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check your network connection and DNS server settings.
* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.

Ok, it seems you have your own opinion of Firefox.
But don't let that make you overlook the main point of my last post. Why is your browser going through search.com then worldwinner.com then google.com then yadda yadda yadda? Someone is getting referrral points off your websurfing activities, and your connection to websites isn't working because of this. We don't need to see a HJT logfile to know this.
You could reset your browser preferences so that your Home Page and Search Page aren't spyware-infested. I have a feeling that it will just go back to the nasty settings.
Firefox is not as prone to being hijacked as IE is. That's why I suggested it.

I've always had problems with firefox. It likes to crash and/or lock.
I wasn't doubting the hijackedness of my browser after you pointed out the megalink. I just need help fixing it, that's all.

You've got a worm or spyware on there. I've seen several now at client sites that affect both IE and Firefox. My guess, based on what is happening, is that its a Vundo variant.
