If I have understood this correctly, the promos on Fox are leading me to believe that what we will see happens before any of the 24 seasons that we have seen? Or am I messing that up?

You are correct, it's a 2 (or 4?) hour prequel that will set up the next season which airs in January.

IMO this happens right after season 6 so this mini 24 will bridge the gap between season 6 and 7.

I swear I saw somewhere that this was a prequel ... now I can't find anything that backs that up at all. Perhaps I'm thinking of something else entirely

Fox says it is a movie event? It must be a prequel bridging seasons 6 and 7, because they have shown the women president, which was announced for season 7. I really hope this season is better than last.

So, what did everyone think?
I thought the use of the silent clock was unnecessary. Still not a bad show. It was a lot better than I thought it would be.
Really excited to see how they spill this over into season 7 and tie Tony into all of this as well.
January 11 people. It is coming.

It was nice to have 24 back, I really enjoyed last nights 2 hour event. Also, lol'ed at the tag, "damn it!"
Looking forward to January 11, i've missed this show, even though it was getting fairly repetitive and predictable.
