I feel old when I see 32GB Flash drives for less than $100.

That BT Mouse looks interesting. I wonder how well it works? It is certainly an interesting idea, to store it in the PC Card slot.

Anyone have any thoughts on the 22 inch monitor? My mom is looking for a new monitor and I have been out of the loop as far as monitors go for a few years.

Is there any real difference between it and this one from memory express?

For your mom, I would go with the cheaper one.

The following site is hard to navigate but does great comparison jobs

http://www.lcdmonitorcomparison.com/

I have another site similar you use will pull down menus but I cant remember the sites name and its in my home comp favs folder.

I'd go for a 32" TV. The prices aren't that much different and they usually have the better panels. The newer 26" are using cheap TN panels. You can usually tell by looking at the viewing angles given. Anything less than 176 degrees is a cheap panel with poorer colour and the picture washes out unless viewed straight on. I'm not saying they're terrible but for much the same price, get the 32" and bigger is better.

I pulled the trigger on the noise cancelling headphones. I guess I'll see if they are any good.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. 32" would be nice as well, but a tad big for my bedroom. I just need an el cheapo to hook up to a dvd player. Won't even be used for tv.

Stock up on AAA batteries.

I used to forget to turn it off sometimes and the battery would be dead the next morning. Mine were Phillips, and while they do cut down on some sound, they definitely don't fully cancel it. Even white noise, which it is perfect for, there is still some that comes through.

So in my experience they are OK, but not worth a big premium.

I think it matters how much your willing to spend. I recently purchased a pair of Bose QuietComfort3's and they're just incredible for noise cancelling. They're almost as good as my in ear monitoring headphones I use when I gig on stage. Mind you...I did spend just under 400 on the Bose headphones.

Yeah, that's the thing- I know I can get good n/c headphones for around $300-400. I just really wouldn't get that much use out of them, and I just cannot justify spending more on headphones than I did on my media player.

I fly maybe 2 or 3 times a year, and most of those flights are short ones- like to California. I talked to a friend who flies every other week and while he got a $400 pair for himself, he got a cheaper pair for his wife and she's happy with them.

If nothing else they seem to be decent enough over the ear headphones which will help with noise a bit too.

Saw this yesterday... didn't pop by this thread though... from all the research I did what I came up with is that is housing for a HDD up to 1 TB. you supply the HDD.

Someone feel free to correct me but I think this was a $150.00 external hard drive casing for up to 1TB drives.

I'd be canceling that order if I where you....
