Default You know it is your time when...

You get killed by the flaming wreckage of a helicopter...

"College student Isaiah Otieno, 23, was hit by a helicopter in Cranbrook Tuesday.
Witnesses say they say the international student from Kenya was walking when the helicopter crashed and burst into flames. Otieno and three others in the helicopter died.
Otieno was a student from Kenya studying at the College of the Rockies in Cranbrook.
Also dead is a pilot from Bighorn Helicopters, and two BC Hydro employees, all of Cranbrook, B.C."

From http://calgary.ctv.ca/generic/genera...ome/index.html

I know it is sad and all but is there anyone else joining me on the journey to hell that chuckled at that?

I am usually good with the morbid humour, but I found this particular story quite sad all around.

Dude must have had his headphones on pretty loud to not hear a helicopter crashing down upon him. That's some seriously rough luck.

Very rough story. So random, gives some perspective on life.

Cue the "Mother's Against Listening to Ipod's with Headphones Outside" group hellbent on reducing the number of deaths associated with listening to headphones in public to absolutely zero. Afterall "One is too many." "You can never be too safe"!

I think you're taking this trip alone. Quite a sad story and not really funny at all.

What’s funny about that?

Tragic.

It is a sad story with lots of coverage, however I understand Bobloba sentiment, it is a very "unusual" way to go.

Now that I think about it, wasn't one of the doctors on "ER" killed a couple of years ago by a falling helicopter?

Yeah, that might be why i chuckled, since he was the same doc who had his arm cut off by a chopper as well...

Yes, but only after he'd had his arm cut off by a helicopter and was working through recovery on that injury

If it was engine failure and the helicopter was autorotating down in an attempt at a controlled crash landing, I'm not sure it would make that much noise.

I have a pretty warped sense of humour; but I also have a husband who rides in a helicopter 200+ times in an average year.....
I cannot muster a chuckle over this.

Condolences to the family and friends of those lost.

I never said that they would be, and I indicated I realized that it is not something I should laugh at with the trip to hell. I still kinda chuckled when I read this, maybe I have an extraordinary warped sense of humor or something.

To come to Boblobla's defense:
I think he meant it as funny/weird... kinda like when a firefighter's house burns down.
Some people just deal with certain situations differently... like the different opinions over whether the "Do-rag Lady" thread was funny or not.
You have to admit the odds must be HUGE!

The Do-rag thread was about a chick that was yelling on a train. This one is about a young human being losing their life.
