Hey, they got something for him. Even though they rarely turn out, 7th rounders are kind of fun. You can just throw caution to the wind and take a crazy gamble without repercussions because nobody cares if they don't turn into anything, but you look like a genius if they do.
Anyway, it worked out for us as Kuznetsov got his shot instead.

Colorado does have one 7th rounder from the last 10 drafts who's played NHL games. Mind you, it's Taylor Makar, so there may be other considerations.
They did draft one of the better hockey names in Shamil Shmakov in the 7th round.

Actually they have three - Trent Miner and Nikita Prishchepov as well.

I was sure Crosby was going to go the other way.
Solo had a pretty good stretch of games after the new year, but it looked like he was about to lose his spot in the lineup after a stinker against WSH.

Terrible asset management by the Flames.
We could have traded Solo to get another Wolf and solid AHL depth. I wonder why I still cheer on this team.
Am I doing this outrage thing right?

Good luck to Solo. The avs have a pretty solid D core so there should be more opportunities in Pittsburgh
