icon54 Flames @ Jets, 6:00 PM, MT. Sportsnet West, Fan 960

It's almost over - the Flames truck on to Winnipeg tonight to meet the Jets for the final road game of the season, and to continue the Battle of Atlanta.

Rumour is that Hamonic will be back in the lineup tonight. Until that's confirmed, here's the lineup courtesy of www.calgarysun.com:

FLAMES

Gaudreau - Bennett - Foo
Frolik - Backlund - Brouwer
Ferland - Shore - Lazar
Glass - Jankowski - Hathaway

Giordano - Hamilton
Kulak - Stone
Bartkowski- Andersson

Smith

JETS

Connor - Scheifele - Wheeler
Ehlers - Stastny - Laine
Perreault - Little - Roslovic
Copp - Lowry - Tanev

Morrissey - Trouba
Niku - Byfuglien
Chiarot - Myers

Hellebuyck

So tonight's a flaming wreck versus some high-flyers. given how the season's gone, and the festering cynicism that goes with the disappointment, Our Hero has decided that things couldn't be much worse, and he seizes control with the help of a few counterparts:

Spoiler!

Go Flames

The only thing that makes me sad about the season ending is the end of Puppet Guy's photos until the fall.

Wish Kylington would get a shot.

Missed last game so hopefully Foo has a good game.

Looking forward to watching! GFG!

Watching the last few games has certainly been eye-opening in terms of how bad our offensive depth/scoring is.

It's also a pretty good commentary on how good our young core offensive players are and how much they mean to the team. It sure has me positive for the Flames future.

I think the CBA prevents Kylington from dressing unless the Flames can't dress 6 defensemen, since we used all our call-ups.

The only reason to watch this game is to see Foo some more on the top line, hopefully potting a goal.

Other than that, I would probably watch to see the Jets put on a show offensively. I have a suspicion this one is going to get ugly quickly for the Flames. I hope I'm wrong, but I haven't been proven wrong very often lately.

This might be a late 80's style blow out, Jet's might score 10

The team has checked out (for the most part)
Gillies is fighting it and not getting a lot of help (see above)
The Jets are rolling.

So yeah, Flames win this one in a head shaker. 4-3

Wow, Gillies is getting a serious look here. Makes sense as I imagine they have a pretty good feel of Rittich from this season.

I think this is an opportunity to evaluate his game at the NHL level and see if he fits the plans for next year, and simultaneously to showcase him as trade bait in the off season. With Rittich solidifying the backup role and Parsons moving up the depth chart, I wouldn't be surprised to see Gillies moved in a trade as part of a package.

Based on his performances thus far, I don't imagine there's much interest out there let alone anyone lining up to take a stab at him. I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see it.

I agree, but an organization that is light on goaltending prospects (i.e. the Panthers) might take him.

Or a place like Buffalo who is unlikely to keep Lehner, might take Gillies back in exchange for his rights. They get a young prospect and a team like the Flames can now negotiate with Lehner as the stop gap between Smith and Rittich/Parsons
