Default Thursday August 18

Golf begins at 4:30 again! Alena Sharp tees off at 5:25, Brooke Henderson, who's only 4 shots off the lead tees off 8:09.

The first event of the day for the Men's Decathlon begins at 6:30 with the 110m Hurdles.

At 6:47 Hughes Fournel and Ryan Cochrane race for a medal in the A Final for the Men's Kayak Double 200m.

The Men's Shot Put Qualifications begin at 6:55. 2015 Pan Am Games Silver Medalist Tim Nedow competes for Canada.

Alyxandria Treasure competes in the Qualifications for the Women's High a jump at 7:00.

The semifinals of the Women's 10m Platform Diving begin at 7:00. Rose line Filion and Meaghan Benfeito compete for Canada. If they advance the Final is scheduled for 13:00.

At 7:00 Jillian Gallays faces a North Korean opponent in the qualifications of the Women's 53kg Freestyle Wrestling.

Also at 7:00 Danielle Lappage of Olds Alberta wrestles in the qualifying round of the Women's 63kg Freestyle.

Everyone's favourite Olympic sport starts at 7! Modern Pentathlon!!! The Women's Fencing Ranking Round has SAIT graduate Melanie McCann and Donna Vakalis competing for Canada.

The Discus Throw for the Men's Decathlon begins at 7:25.

At 7:32 Erica Wiebe, 2014 Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist, wrestles in the Round of 16 in the Women's 75kg Freestyle.

At 8:00 the Men's Triathlon begins! Tyler Mislawchuk and Andrew Yorke race for Canada.

At 8:20 Canada runs in Heat 1 of the Women's 4x100m Relay.

At 8:40 Canada will run in the first Heat of the Qualifications for the Men's 4x100m relay. If anyone isn't aware this team has been surrounded by heartbreak and errors over the last few years. After finishing in the bronze medal position in 2012 the team was disqualified after the race as one of the runners had stepped over the lane line. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games Canada was disqualified for exchanging the baton out of the exchange zone. At the 2015 World Relays in Nassau the team was again disqualified for an out of zone exchange. And then after finishing first at the 2015 Pan Am Games the team was once again disqualified for a lane violation. It's not all doom and gloom as the team did capture the Bronze Medal at last year's IAAF World Championships in Beijing.

At 9:00 the final for the Men's 400m Hurdles takes place.

At 10:25 the Pole Vault will take place for the Men's Decathlon.

The Quarterfinals for Men's BMX begins at 10:30. 2015 Pan Am Gold Medalist Tory Nyhaug will be racing for Canada in Heat 2.

At 15:35 the Javelin competition in the Men's Decathlon begins.

The final for the Men's Shot Put is scheduled to begin at 17:30.

At 17:45 the semifinals of the Men's 1500m begin. Nathan Brannen runs for Canada in Heat 1. Charles Philibert-Thiboutot runs in Heat 2.

Scheduled for 18:15 the semifinals of the Women's 800m begin. Melissa Bishop, who had the fastest time in the qualifying heats runs in Heat 2.

At 18:45 the final event of the Men's Decathlon, the 1500m takes place.

The Final for the Women's 400m Hurdles begins at 19:15.

At 19:30, the final of the Men's 200m Final. Andre De Grasse will be in Lane 4, Usain Bolt will be in Lane 6.

Go Canada Go!!!

Will DeGrasse run in the relay heats? Or can Canada qualify without him?

Thanks as always CofR. I'm glad to see the DeGrasse race is at 7:30, TSN lied last night and said it was at 5pm mountain time.

Canada has qualified for the Women's 4x100m relay Final.... There's going to be a lot of controversy about that last heat though, this is going to be a story all day.

Watching replays the Americans should get reinstated (somehow, don't know how that would work), the Brazilian team impeded them

If the Americans get reinstated, doesn't someone have to be DQ'd? Only 8 spots on the track.
