Ongoing year x year CP Prospect Ranking comparison
I have created a spreadsheet that compares the year by year CP brain-trusts prospect rankings back to 2013 when Bingo started this comparison.
I also emailed Darren Haynes and got his permission to post his picks over the last two summers so we have a comparison to media.
This is an ongoing work so if you have any comments/changes/corrections that make it better drop me a PM and when I have time if its a positive change I will incorporate.

Very interesting stuff, thanks for putting this together.
A few thoughts come up after looking at this table. It looks like Bruce and Harrison will be representing the bottom of the list once again. Also, it seems that flames RFA cuts were the right choice as most of those players where trending down anyhow. If these rankings are any indication of prospect projection, it seems that our 2015 draft class is progressing well. Finally its always neat to see how fan opinions of players change over time. Such as with the cases of Poirier or Kylington.

Final rankings up...Timmy Harrison gets the title of Mr Irrelevant (Never ranked higher than 28 but still hanging around)...can he prove the CP brain-trust wrong?

Interesting that Poirier is always in the top 10. It's pretty much make or break time for him. Here's hoping he can have a massive training camp and possibly force his way on the team.

Id say its almost a make or break year for Emile. Others have started to pass him by and he needs to make a statement

This year marks the first time that all of the bottom selections come from drafts in years past. 2016 has 6 of our previous picks rank as the lowest. Drafting getting better or just shiny new toys?

Interested that Darren doesn't have Pollock in his top 20.
Also, CP braintrust for GM. We are pretty good as a collective.

I had and still do have very high hope for Emile. I was so excited to draft him. Lightening fast skating and a very very gritty competitive nature had me excited through his Juniour years.

Harrison would have put better numbers if he was given a bigger role on his team.
He's improved every year with limited ice time. I think he will see increased time with Spink brothers moving on. Expect a big year from him.
He's the type of player teams would be after if he was a College free agent. He's much higher then where he was ranked by CP.

I also think Kenney Morrison is ranked pretty low. Not sure he justifies a 17 point drop, the biggest single drop for any player this year, and the biggest drop of any player ranked by CP since 13. (Cundari and Ramage ranked 2nd and 3rd in biggest drops)
On the other side Mangiapane had the biggest rise from last year, a +12 jump that is likely justified. (Only Hickey and Ortio had bigger jumps than Andrew).
One thing is certain, the Flames definitely have a lot of very good prospects behind the blue line.

Thanks - it's always a nice reminder how many top prospects unexpectedly flame out (or we lose) each year and how some from way off the radar show well. Hickey, Poirier, Shinkarauk, and Wotherspoon will likely lose their top 10 spots this summer while Fox and Rittich will soar up the rankings. It's going to be interesting to see how many goalies enter our top 10 this time around.

Hmm I'd guess Flames top prospect is Tyler Parsons and Valimaki is 2nd?
