Big number, but good on Hedman and Yzerman for just getting it over with and not having another 365 day fiasco like the whole Stamkos scenario.
 That team is pretty stacked.

Tampa is so bloody good - and will be so bloody good for so long.
Really emphasizes just how important great drafting and even better asset management is.

Yzerman is the best GM in the league in my eyes.

will be interesting what Tampas plan for 2017-18 is going to be. Lots of RFAs this year (Kucherov, Namestnikov, Killorn) and next year (Johnson, Palat, Drouin).

Yzerman doing a great job down there. They always end up with the good Russians instead of the "I'm going to the KHL" Russian's too.

He deserves it. But now the Bishop situation gets a bit more interesting. Luckily for them, they have a good young goalie.

Keep in mind that this contract kicks in 2017-2018. Not this season.

No they won't. The cap is going to destroy all of that great support they have there. The Stamkos deal was a mistake imo. Say goodbye to Johnson, Drouin, and possible Kucherov in the near future.

The Hedman deal looks better than the Ekblad deal IMO. But Hedman might be slowing down near the end of the contract.
Stamkos+Hedman were generally signed cheaper than I expected.

It's what he deserved but it's not a bargain by any stretch.

He's shown strong asset management. Identify the core, and go forward with it.

Having too many great players is never a problem.
