Jackets trade Kerby Rychel to Leafs for Scott Harrington
Believe Rychel asked for a trade this year.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
TOR gets Kerby Rychel from CBJ for Scott Harrington and a conditional pick.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
The pick in TOR-CBJ is a conditional 5th. If Harrington is put on waivers by CBJ and gets claimed, CBJ gets a 5th. If he clears, no pick.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
The condition was put in simply because Rychel doesn't need waivers for a couple of seasons, Harrington requires them now.

Doesn't seem like a good trade for the Blue Jackets.

Great trade by Toronto. Robbery, really.
When your first reaction is "Our team couldn't beat that offer?", you know one team made a great trade.

Hmmmm, from fan accounts on HFboards Harrington had 5/6 d potential....too bad we didn't' offer Wotherspoon plus a pick.

Rychel asked for a trade back in September or October of last year. Shocked it took this long. I believe we were rumoured to be interested at one point.

Not really a great return but I think it's well known that Rychel was not happy in Columbus and has wanted out pretty much since he was drafted. Can't imagine teams were going to blow the doors off with their offers.

this is worse than shinkaruk for granlund. what's wrong with kekalainen this weekend?
rychel is nothing super special, but he's still a decent prospect. Harrington is about a season away from being a career AHLer

I wonder where Milano was headed and for what. Was surprised to see his name pop up yesterday.

It's not a 'this weekend' thing. What has he done to date that suggests he's a good GM? His team is basically a pile of crap and he has done little to improve it in three years. He's had a couple of nice/fair trades but it's mostly just dufus for dufus. Some of the contracts he hands out have been ridiculously bad (Horton, Foligno, Bobrovsky, Dubinsky... even Saad was pretty risky at the time IMO). He has a reputation as a great scout but I'm not sure why people think he's this whiz GM (not saying you do). From what I've seen, he's pretty mediocre and has assembled a completely unremarkable team that has little chance of competing for anything anytime soon.

Most over-rated GM, perhaps

What the hell is going on with the Columbus franchise? They are either geniuses by outsmarting everyone in the hockey world or we are looking at one of the biggest clown shows south of Edmonton. Nightmare weekend for fans of the organization. Sad to see Davidson go out this way.

I thought he was just an average guy. I didn't know he was Benning-level bad.
