Default Bloodborne

Just finished Bloodborne. One of the few games I was obsessed with the last couple weekends. May end up being one of my favourite games of all time. I say that knowing it is probably not very many people's cup of tea....but for my 2 cents it was truly a masterpiece.

Just wait for him to lunge at you and slash like crazy, while he's slashing you'll have time to pitch a Molotov in his face. He's weak to fire so 3-4 of those should finish him off.

I was having trouble with the third phase too until I did that, I beat him and he didn't even hit me in beast mode. Just don't get too far away or he'll do the jump attack that can take off almost all your health if you blow the dodge.

Was going to try that next, thanks. Does the oil urn+Molotov do anything in combination?

His attacks are a bit slower in his final form - I just used my gun to counter then did the critical attack on him.

2 of those and he's done.

The fight really is a skill check for being able to parry (stun) with the gun. As other have said, use the terrain, stun him and a couple hits with fire should finish him off.

There is also a way to kind of glitch him out (not that I condone cheating, but hey we play destiny, so cheese is acceptable) lure him up towards the stairs and jump down where the brooch is, I was strafing him around the enviroment and he glitched out and disappeared. I was actually kind of pissed, cause I wanted to do him legit. (Took him down normal in NG+)

Good luck, I feel after that fight the game really starts to find a rhythm.

If guys are having trouble maybe we should setup a CP password for guys to summon in. I should be able to help.

Also, make sure you are leveling your weapons, and putting equal points into STG/VIT/END

Seems like Skill increases damage for both forms. Any reason to go for Strength instead?

Really depends on the weapon - when you look at weapon stats, its shows A/B/C/D/E beside the different traits you can level up.... the higher the letter, the more the damage from teh weapon scales with your points in that trait.

I.E if a weapon has B STR and E SKILL, you are better putting points into STR.

Hope that makes sense

I saw a number of articles last week that detailed a memory leak in Bloodborne which caused the game to become easier if you left it running for a long period of time. So you could always do that.

Yup, leaving the game on for 12 hours (even in rest standby) causes the glitch. Not how you wanna win in my opinion.

Also, the higher the insite, the harder the difficulty. So spend the points of your getting up there

Why would anyone do that? A big part of the fun of these games is the challenge. If you can't beat a boss simply farm until you are powerful enough to beat it on your terms. I've never met a boss on any of the Demon/Dark Souls games that I couldn't beat with the proper equipment/level.

Now that I've gotten deep into the game I'm finding it a little easier than the Dark Souls games. You can still perish easily if you are sloppy or just try to hack and slash enemies but once you get Ludwig's Holy Blade the game becomes much easier as once you level it up it becomes unstoppable.

This fight is a great training fight, as has been mentioned above. The first time I was running scared, and gradually gained my composure.
It will teach you to parry, and to dodge. Once the final form is done, parry's are still viable, and then had moltovs at the ready on the square button to toss two and it was done. I also started to embrace the straight-up-run from the lamp to the boss as I wasn't getting enough bullets to offset my usage.

I am at the main boss of the next level. Only fought him once before life interrupted. My new plan for bosses is to go in with as few echos as possible, then just try and dodge everything for a while to learn their patterns.
The key is having ice water in your veins and keeping your composure.

Yeah the last form became very anti-climatic using molotovs for offense. Hardest part is trying to space properly and getting the parrys down though that will come with time.

I've been playing quite a bit recently and am really enjoying the game. I found I had to be really strategic with the Wizard and where I position him. I was tempted to cast from stealth but I found that just gave him all the aggro so I'd let my melee start combat and then made a run to the side and flank the enemies - this allows me to get at least two nukes off before taking aggro and getting knocked out. Usually that damage softens them up that the rest of the fight is a bit easier.

Think I finally made it over the hump in Bloodborne. I beat the first 2 bosses fairly easily but ended up going the wrong way after that and being in a place I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be at. I am enjoying the game quite a bit, but I do believe that thing I always read about your first Souls game being the one you like the most.

I tried to play Demons Souls when it came out but it didn't really grab me the way Dark Souls did. I really, REALLY enjoyed that game. I get the feeling a lot of the environments in Bloodborne are going to be fairly samey for the most part.

I'm very clearly the worst Bloodborne player in history. Still getting my ass handed to me by that first gaggle of aholes around the bonfire. I hates it so much, just thinking about it fills me with murderrage.

Can't wait to finish work and play some more tonight.

I don't know if you played Dark Souls at all but I had the first couple areas of that game memorized VERY quickly, and the same thing happened to me with Bloodborne. I had played through that first section you are talking about (with the bonfire & a little further) easily over 50 times. The best strategy I found was to lure the guys out a couple at a time. Throwing pebbles at them helps quite a bit with this.

Also, do you use your gun much?
