Very sad. One of the best rhythm guitarists of all time.

Sad, and if I could make this about me, it makes me feel old.

I am not ashamed to admitt I love AC/DC, great great rock n roll band.

They have been my favourite band for more than 30 years. Yes, their music is not complicated. Most of the good stuff isn't. Their work over the last 25 years is not fantastic, but there are some gems in there. Few bands are better live. I've seen every tour since 86.

Damn, that's a shame. Saw them for the first time on their last tour and those guys still put on one hell a show.

I think I've gone to about 9 of their concerts. A great band that knew what their sound was and didn't experiment.

Its a shame what's happened. To be robbed of your mind is a fate that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Great live band. I still remember the Who Made Who concert in the Dome where the last song they plaid was "For those about to rock" and at the end they started firing off the cannons which were so loud that I couldn't hear anything for a few minutes after. You wonder how these guys doing it every night never lost their hearing before they were 50.

I can't say I was a huge fan, but I do enjoy some of their songs. They aren't diverse, but they are certainly unique and that is respectable. You can also tell that they are true entertainers at heart. They are one of those bands that is good party music.

Very sad when these things happen and 61 is relatively young it seems.

That was a great concert, and that song is the perfect song to end any show with.

Thunderstruck live

We're coming to the end of the real big arena bands. I saw ACDC so many times because I was always guaranteed a great show.

I went to a bunch of KISS concerts for the same reason, Kiss isn't great musically but they make sure you get your money's worth.

ACDC just had that blue collar work rate that I don't think any band can match.

I think Eddie Van Halen is the one who said this: "Listening to AC/DC is like listening to the same song over an over, but it's a GREAT f***ing song!". That about sums it up.

very sad news. I grew up on AC/DC, first concert and love Angus's stage antics. They put on a great show.

I came from a rural area and Back in Black was the soundtrack to practically every bush party.

If I had to name my favorite frontman of all time it would be Bon Scott, favorite rhythm, guitar player is easily Malcolm. AC/DC is one of the best of all time and he was a huge part of what made them.

Just a shame that he can't have another couple decades to enjoy what they achieved.

Very sad news. They are my favourite band and it's a shame he won't be able to perform or live a "normal" life anymore.

First album I ever bought.

Really sad to hear this. They have been my favourite band all my life. I've been pretty unlucky when it came to their concerts - not having a chance to see them until the 'Black Ice tour in 2009.

I thought I'd left it too late - surely at their age then, they had to be past their peak?

Man, was I wrong. I was completely blown away - the energy, the fun, the emotion. Best concert I had ever been to.

I really hope this goes as well as it possibly can for Malcolm and his family.
