I like Emile Poirier. I think he should be a very good NHL player. Fast, gritty, good hands...

Close one for me between Poirier and Baertschi, but the momentum Poirier seems to be on is hard to deny, and the guy just seems to be getting better and better.

I still really like Sven, but this is the year for him to step up. Hopefully he'll get the chance to play with Monahan...they had some amazing chemistry early last year.

Poirier for me as well. His explosive speed makes me think that he will be a breakaway machine. As long as his hands can keep up with his speed he will be a great addition to the team.

I'm also inclined to start voting for Gillies soon. Great goalie prospect, even if he is a couple years away.

I voted Granlund. He's more of a sure thing for what he is projected to bring to the team. Plus he was the only guy of the major contenders to actually play in the NHL and get better.

Here's hoping he makes the team this year.

Well Sven in his final year in the CHL had a PPG of 2. In the NHL his career PPG is .47. Pretty good. And the reason he didn't do well in Abby was they tried him on the RW. He was an awful RW. They moved him back to left and he tore up the AHL. It's astonishing how ignorant people can be about Bärtschi. He was our best prospect last year. I don't care how bad of a year you have nobody drops 4 spots in a year.

Poirier. Fast, tough, has good size, can score, and can play 5 on 5, PK, or PP. He's just too versatile not to make it. Top six forward, easily.

Went with Granlund. He's got an NHL shot, he had an awesome season in his first year in North America, and seems on a good path to make the NHL.

Baertschi is struggling to meet expectations, which granted are too lofty, but his mental side of things is worrying me. He doesn't seem to take challenges very well, and I worry about his ability to become an effective NHL player.

Poirier is next on my list I think.

First real debate (as Bennett was the obvious choice in the first two polls) but still an easy choice this round in the end.

I went with Baertschi because his ceiling is definitely the highest of all the remaining guys and even though he has two inconsistent years starting out as a pro I do think he wil put it together enough to be a 2nd line winger for the Flames.

The next round is where it gets interesting. A lot of love for Poirier but I think a lot of people ignore he is a year older than everyone else in his draft. Still looks good but not sure how much offense he will produce at the NHL level, if he gets there.

They moved him back to left and he tore up the AHL. It's astonishing how ignorant people can be about Bärtschi. He was our best prospect last year. I don't care how bad of a year you have nobody drops 4 spots in a year.

The way I see it is he didn't drop, but other players passed him. Gaudreau is miles ahead of Sven. Bennett is an awesome prospect, and I think Poirier's playing style, his improvement in juniors and his brief stint in the AHL put him slightly ahead of Sven.

To be fair, I'd rank Sven 4th and it was really close between him and Poirier for 3rd. It's not like I've written him off as a bust or anything.

It's not just that he had a bad year. We drafted a player at 4th overall, and other players had excellent years.

Voted Sven, but it was very close between Sven and Granlund for me.

I flipped and flopped but ended up back with Baertschi. He can and will be a dynamic player once he puts it together. I love what Granlund and Poirier bring to the table but Sven has the tools to make it work. It is a bit of a show me year for him as there are some good prospects who have really elevated themselves after last year.
