Default PS3 classics list

So, it's that time of the console cycle when games are still abundant for the last-gen consoles, but they are also quite cheap. Time to go out and get the older games you never gave an honest shot at the time, but would be considered classics. So, what's your PS3 list of best games?

My list consists of:

Fallout 3
Fallout New Vegas
Skyrim
Red Dead Redemption
Katamari Forever

But I haven't bought that many games this generation. I recently picked up Uncharted 2, Assassins Creed 3, and borderlands. What else should I be looking for? What would your list look like?

The Ratchet and Clank games were very good as were the God of War games.

LittleBigPlanet 2
Uncharted 2
Uncharted 3
The Last of Us
Portal 2
Infamous
Infamous 2
Journey
Metal Gear Solid 4
Grand Theft Auto 5
Rayman Origins
Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
Batman: Arkham Asylum

There's a lot of other very good games but those are what I would consider the true classics form that console.

Now that PS4 is out I'm considering getting myself a PS3 for cheap, and going through some of these rather than making the instant jump to next gen and waiting for good games to come out. Thanks.

I see Last of Us mentioned a lot on these lists.

Without giving Way the game, specifically what did you enjoy about the game?

Pretty much everything:

Graphics, story, gameplay.

Not since resident Evil 2 have I been so satisfied in finding 3 bullets... They did a great job at making the survival horror genre (easily one of my favorite genres) fairly realistic and enjoyable at the same time.

It is one of the few games that I played front to back twice in a row, immediately.

This is great. Nice to see many lists have repeats, and many have more unique titles.

I almost forgot, Sly Cooper. Love that game, so much fun.

If we're not talking exclusives, Ghostbusters was amazing.

Red Dead Redemption. If you only get one game, get this one.

SSX. Best sports game of this generation.

Tomb Raider blew me away.

Star Wars The Force Unleashed 1 & 2 are descent if you can get them cheap and are into Star Wars. I recall beating the second one in one 10 hour sitting one night, and was like, 'what the hell is this?' because I paid full price or it. The second was better than the first.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is one of my favourite games ever, but the first one--War for Cybertron--was clunky.

I find the Assassin's Creed games to be very repetitive, but the story keeps me going. I picked them all up for cheap a few months ago and am currently on Brotherhood.

All the LEGO games really appeal to my obsessive-compulsive nature, and I've spent hundreds of hours grinding away at them.

I'll echo the Batman Arkham series.

*Note:Every one of these games I played on the 360, but are all available on PS3
