Excited to see what this kid can do. Whose spot is he going to be filling in for? I don't recall any new injuries over the Olympic break other than mcgrattan. I wouldn't have thought they would bring up granlund to fill mcgrattan's spot though.

Maybe one of the forwards are to be traded soon? Stempniak? Cammalleri?
Edit: Can't wait to see how he's progressed! According to the Heat's website he's 6'0 now which is a plus.

Granlund has 7g, 9a in last 12 games
hope he doesn't get buried on the 4th line so he can showcase his skill.

Hanowski and Granlund, assuming Glencross is ready, is someone out the door already?

Does anyone know how he compares to his brother skill wise? I know his brother is considered a better player but I'm not too familiar with Marcus's skills. Sniper? Playmaker? Speed?

The Heat don't play until Friday. I wonder if they're just bringing Granlund up for NHL practice and a little bonus cash. I hope not as I'd like to see what Granlund can do at the NHL level but it wouldn't surprise me.

Stempniak is away from the team. Glencross and McGrattan may not be ready to go for Thursday. Why not get Granlund some time?

I kind of feel like this one is also a little practice time and evaluation.
There's nothing wrong if it's just a little practice time, it shows him that the organization is committed to him and believes in him. Also lets other rookies know that their chance will come eventually.
(I really hope he plays though)

Skill wise Granlund has decent hands, an NHL caliber shot and average to above average speed.
In Finland he was considered to be a playmaker, however he has been more of a sniper in the AHL.
