I would have liked to see Breen play before sending him down. Just to see.

Yeah not a big fan of that call up, but he is a guy that lots into the 4th line I guess.
Would have rather seen Hanowski get a call up as a more offensive replacement at RW but that the breaks.
Terrible to see D.Jones get hurt though as that has been a big part of the new identity due to the blend of size, and speed that he brings.

Would have rather Horak, Hanowski, Knight off the top of my head.

I would've given Hanowski the call up, he's been hot in Abbottsford.
Does Stempniak get bumped up to the second line? If so, who plays with Baertschi-Monahan? do you slot B. Jones in there? Give Colborne a shot?

Blech, the roster gets even uglier. Why not recall Horak instead? At least he has some offensive upside.

I'm bummed to hear about D. Jones. He's been a difference maker thus far, with a great attitude and work ethic. Here's to a speedy recovery.
I'm not crazy about having B. Jones back up, but I'm not a coach or GM for good reason.

Personally, I don't think you touch that that Baertschi-Monahan-Stempniak line right now.
And I agree on Hanowski. Would rather have seen him as well,

Jones can slot in between bouma and mcgratton for a good 4th line. I would rather see knight Reinhardt or horak come up in a position where they would play more than 5-7 minutes a game. Let them continue to build confidence with big minutes in Abby until we find a better spot for then

jones was a heavy presence in the lineup (ie. physical in all zones), and it has been a pretty important element for a flames team that doesn't have too much size.
the call-up had to be able to fill that void, and i think B. jones does that well, without losing speed/etc, which is why we don't see jackman bing used as the replacement.
speaking of jackman, i thought he'd be on the 4th line instead of mcgratton on most nights, but mcgratton has been solid (outside of one silly giveaway in the defensive zone). Good on Mcgratton for playing a great 4th line shift most nights, him and bouma have been solid.

Not happy about calling up Blair Jones. This, coupled with playing Joey Mac (who has admittedly been good), is sort of telling that the coaching staff is still timid to play the youngsters and is leaning on veteran presence. Not sure if strategic intent behind this or habitual, instinctive reaction to injury woes.

This is an obvious sign that the team is tanking because they didn't go after who the best player was. They must want a higher draft pick....

He would have been sent down a lot sooner if not for the shoulder injury. He may even have surgery on that shoulder. I would not expect him to play any time soon.
I don't think he was kept up because he was favored over guys like Cundari, Wotherspoon, Sieloff or Ramage.

Still not sure what happened last year, but I'm glad to see Jones get another chance, hope he'll come up with something to prove. Maybe they're giving him one last shot to either show he belongs or maybe even showcase for a trade. He can be an effective agitator when he's on his game.

I like that they brought up Jones, I felt like he got a raw deal last year. He showed he was a good bottom 6 NHLer.
