Default Paging Calgary hockey fans; Support the Hitmen

Paging Calgary hockey fans; reminder there's playoff hockey in #YYC; @WHLHitmen (up 1-0) & RedDeer Rebels Gm 2 tonight @ Dome.

Disappointing turnout for Game 1 (<5500). Almost embarrassed to hear the Rebels contingent on hand louder than Hitmen fans.

Hitmen have a very deep squad - great chance to watch some very good and passionate hockey.

i was at the game last night, was a little dissapointed in the turnout, but quality hockey none the less, nice to watch a hockey team that succeeds on a regular basis in this town, and the price is right too. 40 bucks gets two people pretty good seats just about anywhere

Yeah the game last night was a great game. Very physical and exciting.
I love going to the hitmen, they play hard every game and now with the playoffs they are even better.

I'm out of town, so can't make first two games of this series, but this team has been exciting to watch all year. The Flames would be lucky to have a guy like Cody Sylvester on their roster. A true heart and soul guy. He is probably going to be more missed than any other Hitmen player over the past 4 yeara.

Don't miss your chance to see the next Hitmen player to have his jersey hung in the rafters.

I was at the Hitmen game tonight and it continues to be really great hockey. I remember seeing a lot of Getzlaf and Ladd during the 04-05 season and although they now play on other teams, following their careers has been something pretty special.

It was a really great treat to see who this Phaneuf guy was that same season and how his shots would literally rocket off his stick towards the net. No wonder Darryl was so excited to draft him.

As for to tonights game the chances were going both ways with flashes of brilliance for both teams. It was also great to see Brent Sutter blow a gasket when his player get a major and a misconduct when one of the Rebel players laid out a hot on one of the Hitmen. I don't know what the attendance numbers were but again, a little sparse for a quality product.

I said this before in the other sports thread, but it bears repeating: given the choice I'd rather have seasons tickets to the Hitmen than the Flames. When my kids get a bit bigger I plan to take them to a few Hitmen games a year.

When's their next game? I've never really followed the Hitmen. Wouldn't mind going to a game.
